  1. I was wondering how long it would take for this to be mentioned. When I first heard 2015 I assumed December. That is going to be a quick turnaround to get this ready. They obviously did their homework though. This isn't Total Recall. Two is all you need.
  2. This one is all too familiar. Oh how I love the wife's daily rants about her school day. She goes on for about 30 minutes without even stopping to breathe. Then when she asks how my day went... "same as yesterday". I like efficiency and that message says it all the vast majority of the time.
  3. I'm with you on this one. If he got his 9 games last year and gets another 9 games this year in the NHL, he's on the express train to the NHL the second he leaves the OHL. His only significant AHL time is going to be if London makes an early exit from the playoffs next year. Unfortunately, since they're one of those power teams, they'll be making their annual deep playoff run.
  4. I'm still not completely sure how much of a point there is to a story about someone preparing a bid. We can very easily put together two or three other groups who are doing the same exact thing. I will say this though, anyone who does so will be looking for personal gain. That's just the way it is.
  5. I'd almost expect him to go back to the US developmental program first. He's been out of the college circle for about 10 years now, and even there, he was never more than an assistant coach. I bet he could go back to BC as they recently lost their long-time assistant coach. He could quickly become the next in line for the eventual retirement of Jerry York if he played his cards right.
  6. I'm still waiting to see this professional sports owner who isn't interested in money. I hear he has a cameo in the new X-Men movie.
  7. Not that it changes things at all, but I am curious about what will become of the land where the Ralph is. That's going to be one massive hole of nothing when the day finally does come. More strip malls probably?
  8. We need a little more detail on the specifics of this land for the stadium that is "south of Buffalo".
  9. That article has its fair share of errors. I wouldn't put much weight in what is said there. The Knapp thing is fairly obvious though.
  10. Can someone please explain the Ullmark and Makarov love to me? I can somewhat get Ullmark, but his results have thus far come from a very different league. Makarov I just don't get. He spent most of the year in the ECHL and then got 15 AHL starts. He had mediocre numbers in each league. Nothing about this kid right now screams NHL regular. If he's going to get this praise, I don't see why someone would want to say the same about Lieuwen, since they are more or less at the same exact stages in their careers, separated by two years in age.
  11. Lock down these smaller tournaments, knock them out of the park, and then work your way up to the big stuff. If these events are success, they're the first step in a bright future.
  12. You're a seasoned vet compared to me. I bought the ring right around 13 months after meeting the wife.
  13. He's a restricted free agent. If he doesn't sign, he will have no job at all. A one year deal gets him one year closer to UFA status and gives him another shot of proving himself. And I'm not sure why this talk about letting him go keeps popping up. The Sabres had 6 goalies under contract last year. 4 already are under contracts and two are RFAs (Hackett, Knapp). Even if they decide to drop down to 5, it'll still be Hackett over Knapp. They're both only 24 and there's certainly more upside in Hackett.
  14. There's a joke in here about the helmet, but I can't quite place it.
  15. The progress really won't be all that difficult. It's just some of those more random states that will get in the way. Why in the hell would I ever go to Montana?
  16. I have that same map. You have no given it a new purpose.
  17. Even before twitter, they still had to announce their press conferences ahead of time. Now we just get flooded with every bit of information by the second.
  18. A lot of the so called hatred of him is based solely on his nationality. Sad but true.
  19. I'd rather stick with the standard salt and vinegar, but they are pretty good though. The thing that bugs me though is that Lays has apparently phased out the $0.99 bags of chips in favor of a larger $1.49 bag. Let's just feed right into the obesity problem.
  20. The wife and my goal in life is to have sex in all 50 states.
  21. I don't care about the gun story one bit. I'm catching up on this story right now (didn't see one bit of tv or news this weekend) and all I can think is how much of a whiny bitch this kid was. Reading some of those entries from his journal or manifesto (whatever it was), he's constantly whining about why girls don't like him. Hey buddy, did you ever try reading that journal? The answer becomes obvious. I miss the good old days where these miserable SOBs would just off themselves right away instead of deciding to take as many people with them as possible. And I really hate to do it, but I have to throw plenty of blame towards the parents as well. I wonder how much of an effort they put in to confronting their son. They are going to be haunted by that for the rest of their lives, knowing that they could have done more.
  22. And then there's Colorado. They're due to fall back to earth a bit next year. And this is before even accounting for how they handle their free agents this offseason.
  23. Couldn't you have saved us a click and just listed the candidates? ;)
  24. I like how many Americans I'm seeing at the top of that list. It is early still, but this could be a big part of another surge for American hockey a few years down the line.
