If it takes you 6 years to make the playoffs your plan sucks I think since he's still in place, it's his way of giving Adams an "Incomplete" grade. If it were rewritten next week after Adams gets canned *fingers crossed*, maybe they move him to Number 1. Quote

Hopefully it's just that higher up in the hockey department. Give him some kind of a hybrid role where he talks to the hockey people and works on the business side of things. Just they really got to flush out this entire front office. Was there about a year ago. Now, just want him out. Him and Forton. Let Kekalainen be the POHO and interim GM. Figure out who the next coach should be before this season ends and hire a real GM in the spring/summer. 1 1 Quote

Flashsabre Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago What has Adams built in 6 years? This team is no closer to a playoff spot than when he started. Goaltending has always been a mess under his watch. 1 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago We’ll all believe it when we see it. For me, you have to excise the entirety of the cancer. That means no Adams to POHO. I don’t even want him on the organization on the business side. His entire Sabres career has been the downward spiral of this franchise. Someone else needs to set the culture and expectations. Not Pegula’s friend. Someone else needs to hire the GM and help interview the coaches. There are players that need fresh starts, too. But the department needs a mission and a winning mindset. These people do not have it. 4 3 Quote

If it is Jarmo, and he doesn't fire everyone, then we'll be stuck in business as usual mode and they will continue to stink. If he does fire everyone, there will be some hope. What does everyone mean? I get the scouts and whatever asst GMs they have wondering about but replacing an entire coaching staff for both NHL & AHL ain’t easy. Quote
#freejame Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago If they don’t fire everyone, it’s the same as firing no one. The whole organization has the stank of death to it. Quote

I think the ripple effects down through the organization of his firing (especially as things get increasingly rank and file) can be notable - depending on how long they wait. Simply not extending his contract sends much less impactful a message than firing him when you don’t strictly have to Adams was hired under the mandate of improving culture - ironically it appears the only way Adams is capable of positively affecting culture is through his axing Edited 3 hours ago by Thorny 1 Quote
Porous Five Hole Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Prediction and I hope I’m wrong. POHO: Jarmo (remote) GM: Karmanos (remote) Hockey Ops unchanged with some additional emphasis on analytics. Coaching staff finishes the year. 1 Quote

We had great seats, etc. and were really looking forward to it. I always liked to bring friends to Buffalo for Bills & Sabres games, as they are always impressed by how much fun the city is. Obviously, the game was postponed. Now I bring my kids.... Edited 3 hours ago by msw2112 Quote
Flashsabre Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago The problem is this organization hasn’t done a “real search” for a GM or coach in 6 years. More than just firing people, they have to actually do the work to find quality people, not just lackeys that have charmed Pegula in a conversation. 1 Quote

Candidly I don’t understand the extremity of the stances we see so often when it comes to Adams and GM in general “nothing will change” You may not be aware but I personally don’t like Kevyn Adams as GM. Maybe it’s slipped through the cracks. I think he’s one of the worst GMs I’ve seen - but even THIS man came one point short of the playoffs 3 years ago. The idea there’s a magical unsurpassable barrier *right there* is absurd. “Pegula GMS can demonstrably only get to one point short of the playoffs.” Of course that’s not true. There is no logical way to say or explain why a better GM than Adams couldn’t gain a couple more points in the standings the sabres won. Our expectations are incredibly low. They did it- we only need the bare minimum to be satisfied. The rub is that they haven’t done even that. The hope is that it remains imminently attainable Adams is a relatively *bad GM*, folks. He almost made the playoffs here. YES one improvement to the front can make a difference. Of course it can. With this franchise and its fans it can make all the difference in the world Quote
