Jarmo took a role that could not have been attractive to elite GM candidates. Promoting him to the role would be typical lazy decision making.

If they truly want to shift the culture and/or build credibility, I think this supposed big move needs to be announcing Kevyn’s new boss - Buffalo’s version of Jeff Gorton. Empower this person to make subsequent changes. The first being selecting GM. Sure maybe Jarmo is a candidate. But taking this advisory title should not be a direct line to GM.

There are only 32 NHL GM jobs. Jarmo probably figured he's get his foot in the door when the inevitable occurred  Are you saying that disqualifies him now?

I’ve heard from Fairburn that Jarmo is around a lot and that’s good.  But it was noteworthy that Jarmo said he wasn’t relocating to Buffalo for his role as Advisor when he was hired. So maybe I’m taking an unfair shot.

One thing Fairburn reported several times is how much Jarmo was around the team and with Adams. Maybe things changed after he accepted the job as strictly an advisor? Fairburn also said a handoff in roles was looming, he just never said when.

You hate the fans and don’t want anyone to be happy lol

People are going to celebrate if Adams is finally removed as GM. It’ll be a long time coming. You will have to deal with that joy

And he doesnt put anything out unless its true or very close to happening

Tim Graham has some of the best sources inside the Pegula Organizations, so I agree wholeheartedly with this

If it happens, by far the most likely outcome is that Jarmo gets the job.

If it is Jarmo, and he doesn't fire everyone, then we'll be stuck in business as usual mode and they will continue to stink.

If he does fire everyone, there will be some hope.

I think your right.

I would love to see DeBoer come in and eventually replace the entire coaching staff.

The TGAF Podcast mentioned the  effects on the business aspects this is having that they are giving tickets away, the fire Adams Chants in the Arena. This is

Couple that with players potentially asking out, this is the best pathway forward

I’m listening now.  He also said Ruff has a ton of influence in the organization.  Which is interesting if he’s a lame duck.

But whatever it takes to move on from KA.

One thing that cannot be minimized. With the Bills stadium close to being done, the Sabres are pretty close to starting the process with the State. I’m sure “Pete” has been in TPEGS’ ear about the need to look like your fan base gives a rats ass about you before negotiations begin.

I think two things are leading to changing out Adams sooner than later like the Olympic break or post season.

One is he is no longer able to face the news media without getting absolutely clobbered on video so there is in effect no one to represent the team to the press. Two is the Tuch negotiations. I don't see how he would re-sign not knowing who is managing and coaching this team next year.

It was me. Yelling Dar-see Dar-see. Made the Buff news. One guy told me to Shut Up. Then the rest of the section continued. He was looking straight at me. The he left the box. lol

Sort of strange timing if it happens now.

The time to do it was last year. Now they are back exactly where they were. But now the fanbase and media are raking them over the coals and fans are chanting “sell the team” and I’m sure players have made it clear that enough is enough

Not really. A GM change could potentially salvage the season, or at least come close to salvaging the season. The sooner the action, the greater the chance for success.

I don't mind Adam's having another role in the organization. Hopefully it's just that higher up in the hockey department.

Give him some kind of a hybrid role where he talks to the hockey people and works on the business side of things. Just they really got to flush out this entire front office.

If Adams is replaced as GM he simply cannot be promoted to another position in Hockey Operations.  That would create problems, factions, and confusion.

He could possibly go back to Business Admin, or back to Harbor Center, but even that is awkward.

Not really, if you know you're not renewing KA as the GM you don't want him going into the trade deadline and handling the Tuch negotiations.

Unless by "strange timing" you meant this should have happened 3 years ago, in which case I agree.

Promoting Adams to director of arena operations is the Xmas gift we have been waiting for since he was hired.

Moving on from Adams must happen for this franchise to survive.

I’m more than ready for Jarmo to take over and start reshaping the roster.  He needs to figure out what pieces are part of the solution.  He needs to start in goal. Unfortunately, I think we are stuck with UPL.  Therefore we must become a counter punch lock down defensive team.  That starts by moving on from Byram or Power and replacing them with a D first player.

Who are the keeper pieces? - Doan, Benson, Dahlin, McLeod, Timmins, Samuelsson, Norris (only because we are stuck with him), and Tage.  Everyone else is expendable or replaceable.
