Three listless games to start the season including two embarrassing losses at home.  2 total goals, 0% on the PP.  -8 differential in just 3 games.

Objectively there are only 2 top 6 players on this current roster in Tage and Tuch.  There is only 1 defender worth a crap in Dahlin.

Adams created this mess, but the coaches can’t get them to even work at all.

The coaches and Adams need to go now before this season is done.  It’s close to over already.

This is only the correct move if Jarmo is moving to Buffalo and is the next GM. If that, then be can backchannel a new coach AND new assistants that aren’t currently employed.

Otherwise, you’re promoting from within on an interim basis and that might literally be worse.

How the front office and coaching staff actually kept their jobs in the first place is hilarious. I guess since their contracts are all up after this year Terry didn't want to pay more people not to work for him.

As I said before, most things with Pegula after the first year or two of ownership have been about (or a combination of) being a.) Cheap  b.) a shortcut c.) about nostalgia  d.) about him not hiring anyone that will talk back to him

How can it be any more worse than it is now?

The Sabres have the worst GM in the history of the NHL, and the owner doesn't seem to give a F.

All this results in the most boring, uninspiring hockey that any fanbase has been subjected to.

So, you know, good times

Fire Ruff and the other clowns on the bench, go get DeBoer or Gallant. Do whatever it takes to get an established coach with a strong resume. No more promoting from within or mediocre retreads. Hell, get Boudreau. He may not be a long term answer but he has a track record of quick turnaround and can start moving things in the right direction.

@Thorny, totally OK to disagree.  But how should it go tomorrow if everyone is fired tonight? What’s the plan?

Does it really matter?

If they went with no GM or coach next game and just play the next game without them, Whats the worst that will happen? They lose another game? Only score 1 goal?

The problem is your probably not going to turn things around much cleaning house in season because most of the time theres no one really available to step right in and rarely has a team cleaned house of all the coaching staff and front office in season.

My biggest surprise so far this season is that people expected any different. The GM went out and did absolutely nothing to the roster to try and improve and like usual decided not to rock the boat and hope all the current guys just get better and add a few backup caliber guys to fill the rest of the roster......

I think there's no one who expected different. Maybe a couple ppl. I do think a lot of us hoped for different. Idk if that distinction matters.

The Sabres are 1 of 2 teams with 0 points this season,  the other is the islanders. The Sabres are dead last in goals, goal differential, and points (cuz they have 0)

Of course it matters lol

I am the type that is trying to come up with practical solutions. “Just don’t play with a coach” or “fire everyone, it doesn’t matter” is not the conversation I’m trying to have.

Look at my posting history…I’ve wanted the GM gone for a long time.  So if people don’t want to talk about a short term & long term solution to coaching or the front office, then I guess I’m not in the correct thread or right place.

Here is the plan.

Step 1 - kick Adams upstairs or the curb, but if upstairs give him no hockey authority.

Step 2 - promote Jarmo to GM

Step 3 - hire DeBoer behind the scenes, let him hire a staff

Step 4 - fire all the coaches when step 3 is finished

Step 5 - cut Bryson, Geersten, Danforth.   Promote kids who want an opportunity even if they aren’t quite good enough. At least they’ll try.  Östlund, Helenius, the Russian Ds, Rosen etc.  let’s see them all and see who wants to be an NHLer.

Step 6 - start trading dead wood and try to find some actual NHLers at the deadline.

Edit:  I forgot.  Step 7 - Find a friggin goalie.

TP isn't firing anyone tonight.

But at some point he will have to act.  The pressure, including from the NHL, will be too great.

The question is when will the camel's back break.

If they start the season, say, 0-10?  I think KA and Lindy are gone.

But what if it's just 0-6?  Or 1-9 with a couple of OTLs?

We all know the answer:  TP will stall and delay and hem and haw until Thanksgiving, or New Year's, or the Spring for that matter.

In the meantime, everyone can see that the wheels are falling off, and it's a question of when, not if.

Thanks for another great season, Terry and Kevyn!  Great job!

I didn't expect any different. Every off season we say the same thing and it goes something like this - "in order to win we need every good player to have another great year, and we need all three prospects to take a big step up."   We never say we added 3 impact players.  We never say we shored up the goaltending.  We never say we brought in winning veteran leadership.   Never.

That no compete game against Boston was horrific.  I was a bit surprised that the team already quit on Ruff, they often play better on the road without crowd pressure.

The mental impact of losing Norris seems to frustrate they key players who were counting on him.  A sign that out vets have never accomplished anything.

Rico if that happens there will be severe damage to the fan base.

Just put Jarmo in there and see if he can find a coach.

Overpay DeBoer or bring up Leone, just do something.
