Three games in feels like the season's over already. 

Even Dahlin fell apart today as he's back to his try to do everything mode where he gets caught out of position and gives the puck away as well. Stats don't matter, they were never in this game. 

So why'd they claim this goalie from St. Louis if they aren't going to play him? I'm not blaming Lyon for anything, he was fine, but he's not an every night goalie. Never has been, and rolling him out every night is madness. They will burn him out this way. Dumb imo. 

I did like Dunne better on the 4th line than Geertson. For all the talk of how great Doan has been he's not a top liner. There's an unfillable hole there. This team literally has nothing to offer. Positivity is just nonsense.

This is the WORST they have looked since the tank.

I both agree with you and Tage; the negative vibes from the previous 14 years certainly puts added pressure on them.

I agree things feel over.

Dahlin may be trying too hard because the rest of the team can't keep up. Still, watching him puke up the puck is hard to forgive.

I don't disagree with playing Lyon in three straight. He's been keeping the Sabres in games. But Ellis is going to have to play soon or they will wear Lyon out totally.

I just don’t want them putting Ellis out there if this team has already quit. He deserves better than that.

Good lord. Two games in and you're already talking about next October?! Everything in your post could be done now and not have to waste a full season.

I never put the sound on until the puck is dropped, if at all.

Not specifically talking about next October; just saying that when you inadvertently tank, which is what this season seems to be headed for (though winning the next 4 games could dramatically change that outlook), you can come out of it extremely quickly.

Also, was 100% on board with Adams going away and most if not all the coaching staff as well.  So, would've rather they not go through an inadvertent tank, but does it not seem that's where we're heading?  (Kind of like when they kept Housley around 1 year too long.  And Housley repaid the favor of being dead coach walking by giving Skinner top line minutes down the stretch to get him to 40 goals which resulted in him getting his ridiculous contract.)  

Personally, would rather they rip the bandaid off now, rather than wait until May to do so.  And whatever happens, happens.  But do you honestly expect ownership to be on board with that anytime soon (barring something truly horrific like a 1-10-1 October)?

I did. Tage said it out loud that negativity breeds negativity. I believe he was returning the vibe he was receiving. 
 

It isn’t for me to say if that’s correct or incorrect/fair or unfair.  But I’m certainly not going to tell our best forward who has scored 50% of the goals this season (lol) to ***** off for it, like the “fan” I was quoting.

I thought he was fine given the circumstances.   Calm and honest.  If he had some edginess toward the end of the interview that is to be expected. 

He is 100% right, they can't keep looking back and talking about the negative.

Three games is three games.   But you and I both know the Sabres talent is overrated, the team is poorly coached,  they do not play as a cohesive unit, and there is no pride in that building.

Yes.  One broke out with about 10 minutes to go in the 3rd and another broke out in the last minute of the game.

Hmm. Now weren't you one who liked my post about a player seemingly owning the drought? How can one own the drought without looking back?

I think @darksabreis onto something. Tage probably isn't too concerned about winning in the present. He is the CEO of own little entity, and he's about maximizing income most of all. If that's true, he surely doesn't care about the last 14 years.

Shame. They have a great motivating issue to rally around. And it's so achievable. Do these guys look hell bent on being a playoff team? 0-3 isn't the end of the world, as Tage said. How they looked doing it is pretty apocalyptic.

Wonder if getting a 5 on 3 and having about 45 seconds of PP to start the 2nd would've been enough to get the PP off the schneid.

When Malinski threw the puck over the glass, it should've been a penalty.  The puck was well over the glass and was going to land in the crowd until Kelly reached over the glass and knocked the puck back into the bench area with his stick.  Have NEVER seen that happen before.  The puck literally was on its way to landing 2-3 rows behind the Avs bench and the guy just plucked it out of the air and back into "no harm, no foul" land.

Incredibly quick thinking, but astounded that not one of the officials on the ice saw what happened.

Don't know what's up with Thompson, but it LOOKS like he's intentionally trying to get somebody fired.  Didn't get back to the car in time to hear his interview and GR's discussing it made it sound like he still is trying and expects things can get turned around.

But just everything he does just seems off.  Even that goal he scored was simply throwing it towards the net; it wasn't a shot he expected to have work.  Most all his shots are going into the goalie's crest, unless he's shooting at an open net and then it's going wide or over the net.  His passes are off, he's taking an extra half second to get shots off.

Tuch doesn't seem right either.  

Realize the 2 of them combined with Dahlin to score the goal, but Dahlin's the only 1 of the 3 that has looked pretty much like himself so far.  And he had that horrific pass to Nikushin that set Makar up for the winner which totally changed the flow of the game.  Until that play, the Sabres were getting the best of the play and seemed like they'd actually get a lead sometime in that 2nd period if they could just keep it up.
