I thought the power play was moving the puck really well and getting chances. They certainly kept the puck in the Rangers end more than usual. 

In fact I thought the Sabres put in a great effort last night. They were getting outplayed early, then took the game over. They were better than the Rangers for most of the game. They were physical and played solid defense but for two failed clears that led to goals. 

A couple of stupid puck luck goals late made it seem worse than it was. Of course if you didn't watch you wouldn't know that.

See everyone Saturday. 😂

I look at it this way; they’ve got 81 more games to look like a solid playoff contender.  If not we’ll have a very eventful off season.  I don’t agree with any of the comments insinuating we’d run it back again.   There’s enough talent to attract a solid GM who could then attract a staff.  Ergo, if I’m TP I’d not allow any major moves, extensions, etc.

As long as they have a negative goal differential... That's my metric... I'm not going to watch any live games. If they win, I'll watch the replay. 

They have until the end of this month to have a positive goal differential and to have more points than games played. If at the end of the month they don't reach that... I'm canceling cable... Because watching the sabres is the only reason I still have it. 

If they don't turn this around immediately... That's it for the year for me until they do.

Been in Florida for 20 years. I took on the Panthers as my second team then since they are local. My sons got to enjoy two Cups and got to see playoffs live together. I enjoyed every second and don't feel the least bit bad. It saddens me the Sabres have lost an entire generation with no end in sight.  The incompetence has now become abusive to the fanbase.

I get your point, but that isn't even doing it for me anymore (streaks of 7 points out of 10)  They've done that in the past and nothing came of it.

I don't think they are breaking the top 8 standings for the rest of the year. I just can't watch this mess, they are lost, and these injuries will sink them even further.

Read the ORIGINAL POST.  You will see that the ORIGINAL POSTER said the words ONE GAME two times in his first four words.  MY response to the OP was literally about ONE GAME, because he made a strong point about this ONE GAME.  

There are many other threads covering the horrific performances of past 14 seasons.

I have stood by the team for the past 25 years, and I have nothing left to give. 
 

I have pretty much sold every single Sabres Item that I have except for this clock with a slug logo on it, and a Sabres winter hat. 
 

I don’t want to sound like a bandwagon fan, but I think I won’t care about this team until I see them actually make some progress. I have given too much of my time to this team, just for them to waste it

 

I’ll be like that couple that legally separates while they’re in their 30s but Then gets back together in their 50s

They are playing for glory with their contracts. 

Pegula, Adams, Ruff, and Appert offer no path to glory, imo.

The indifference and incompetence of these men has produced only a growing animus among the fan base the past couple years.

Dahlin and Thompson will have to rally their teammates to do it themselves.

Sure I get what he was saying to.  It is not hard to grasp his point.  I responded to the OP's specific point,  first game, one game, whatever.  But we all know its been 14+ years of false promises, mismanagement, bad judgement, and poor effort by the people at the top. 

Believe me, I am not an apologist for this organization. The Sabres have had the worst front office in the NHL since Pegula fired Regier, and quite possibly the worst in all of the major professional sports in North America   

Don't take my word, look that the record.  

Still, I would like to try to enjoy at least part of the season, and I would like to hope for a little while that they can do something.  By December I should be ready to face another harsh reality and another lost season.

I'm a glutton for punishment so I'll still be watching when the drought hits 20 years. As I watch this current batch flail, the uniform still inspires memories of what made me fall in love with this broken, broken franchise...Mogilny, LaFontaine, Hasek, Hawerchuk, etc.

I can't blame people for tapping out, it all feels so damn hopeless.
