2/3 of our first line didn’t drink enough milk this week. So are we looking at?:

Zucker McLeod Thompson

Quinn Kulich Tuch

TBD Krebs Doan

Malenstyn TBD Danforth

That’s a “last place in the division” roster. How could we have this many top picks and not have a quality center spine? The incompetence is astounding.

This isn’t a very competitive roster even if fully healthy. It’s constructed for the sole purpose of just squeezing into the playoffs.

Our biggest contract worry is a second liner.

We have a sub .900 starting goalie

We are banking on two guys (Benson and Quinn) who haven’t produced a lot.

Our 1C is made of glass his whole young career.

We have two literal giant softies on defense.

I'm not saying he isn't injury prone....Just no need to post something when you say "literally" and it is exactly not true...thus not 'literally'

For a bunch of young guys under 35, they sure get sick and injured a lot. I am 60 and haven't had a Cold/Flu/COVID in over 7 years. Don't the Sabres have access to the BEST DOCTORS? I don't even have Healthcare and I am healthier.

Going to have to go:

Tuch Tage Zucker

Quinn McLeod Doan

Benson Kulich Rosen

Malenstyn Krebs Danforth

Definetly have enough Amerks to plug in and enough centers to Handle this.  Have Kosak here to so Krebs can go up as a Center if you want Tage to stay as Winger.

Norris so far really hasn't been counted on as a Sabre so if this is going to happen. Better now then Midseason.

That said, Sabres will be hard pressed to play .500 Hockey till Amerk players start delivering GOALS!

I'm already done with this team after 1 game. That was quick.

I just posted in another thread... That I'm not watching live anymore until they win consistently. If they're not playing winning hockey by the end of October, I'm canceling cable and I'm pretty much done for the year.

The good news is we got him thru 2030 at 8 million a year.

Maybe 1 of those 5 seasons he can stay on the ice.

Close. In those 5 seasons, he will play a total of 1 season's worth of games. FTFY lol

The only thing that will make this season more comical is when they announce the Adams, Ellis, Wilford and Appert multi year extensions😝

Ive lost the ability to even be upset about this team anymore. I feel nothing watching them lose.

Hey atleast Doan looked good.😁

I’m going to quibble with the post.  Thompson can play center, and I actually think Krebs can be an effective 3rd line center. Kozak is also a solid choice as a 4th line center.   Center isn’t our issue.  Lack of playmakers, goaltenders and defensive D remain our issues and that didn’t really change this off-season.

I'll nibble on the quibble.

Hmmm.... are we still doing phrasing? Brew that is true... nevermind. Onward!

Per the bold: Yes, all too true (and exaggerated with Benson and Kesselring out of the lineup).

But although Thompson can play center, he isn't as long as Ruff is coach because he doesn't play defense as Ruff expects him to.

Here are the center spines in the division. One team is missing the best center in the entire division (and most people around the league would their new #1 over anyone the Sabres ice, and another team is banking on Pastrnak+playing every game 1-0 to avoid being top-5 in the draft order.

Contract aside, how many of these spines would you take before you selected Buffalo's?    dailyfaceoff for the lines/order

Lindholm - Mittelstadt - Minten - Kuraly

(Norris) - Kulich - McLeod - Krebs - Kozak

Larkin - Kasper - Compher - Rasmussen

(Barkov) - Bennett - Lundell - Rodrigues - Kunin

Suzuki - Kapanen - Dach - Evans

Stutzle - Pinto - Cozens - Eller

Point - Cirelli - Gourde - Holmberg

Matthews - Tavares - Domi - Roy

The Boston spine isn't very good.  Outside of Suzuki, there isn't much on the Montreal spine.  Stutzle is excellent, but Pinto is mediocre, Cozens lousy and Eller old.  I'd say about half are equally mediocre.  However, they have goaltending, scoring depth, defensemen who defend and better coaching.

Norris picked the wrong sport to pursue.

He’s not tough enough for the rigors of NHL hockey, imo.

Adams knew his history.

Took a chance on him.

Lost.

Hey now, come on. Faceoffs are hard. It’s the leading cause of upper body injuries, right?

again as this was pointed out to me before... you are correct... the point was he didnt even make it thru a game ... he hurt himself taking a face off... like no one touched him... so yes he did make it thru 2 full periods... without getting hurt... my bad... bottom line is another inept trade and we as a team are worse for making it if this porcelain princess is hanging all year in the hot tub with Muel...
