Trade Conor Timmins and Isaac Belliveau from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Connor Clifton and the 39th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.

30 miles north of Buffalo is Lake Ontario.  (Just going all pedantic on you, I know it's about 30 miles away, and mostly north.)

Who do you want

Clifton and the 39 pick who will help us in 2030

Or Timmins and a ahl D? Timmins is better than Clifton probably and certainly bigger.

I'd rather trade for players that will make a positive influence.  To me Timmins is an AHL defensemen.

Five years of playing without RHD, now Adams is stockpiling them.

He has no clue to what he is doing, and when you listen to him talk about certain players or the team you just want to call him out and punch him in the face.

Another cost cutting move, can we hope Terry and KA are prepping for a big salary UFA for top 6 forward or trade with all this extra cash they're accumulating??

Trade them all for fringe players and AHL/ECHL players. I have no faith in Kevin Adams. He is in way over his head

He's finally listening to the analytics team.

Who in their right mind wants to go to Buffalo?

Timmins is not an improvement.

Over Clifton? Fully disagree, he's better than Clifton.

Of course if Adams doesn't use the cap savings he can kiss my grits

So, after Byram goes, we end up with

Samuelsson Dahlin

Power Kesselring

Timmons Bernard-Docker

Bryson & Johnson(?) as the spares.

IF Samuelsson can keep from dragging down Dahlin, still not thrilled but maybe it can work?

Or rather than going out the door for a F, does Byram go out the door in a package for Dahlin's partner?

Timmins is a good 3rd line NHL player - really good analytics. I don't see him playing with Dahlin.

Cap summary: Out $18m in salaries once Peterka, Byram extended alonf with Clifton. In: $3m in salaries between Timmins and the 2 Utah guys.

What Are you doing with this $14m Adams? it better be something franchsie changing. Note: extending Quinn at $3.3 is not the answer

He's not going too.  He promised last year to use the money he saved in buying out Skinner.  He's not going too now.  Timmins is a pushover in his own zone.

I’m a vacuum, I like the trade. I don’t like that it makes us younger. I don’t like that the focus seems to be on getting cheaper (though dumping Clifton is good). Timmons is projected by AFP to get $2.6 on a two year deal.

Also, in less than 12 months we have gone from handedness not being an issue to it being ultra-important. It all ties in to the view that there has never been a coherent plan.

Well, they have Byram, they have prospects up the wazoo, they have cap space.  It makes too much sense to bring in a top F &/or a proven G with that ammo.

Can it actually happen?

We're thinking the same LGR4GM. Timmins is definitely better than Clifton and prob better than Samuelson. He reminds of the D we just traded for from Utah. I like these two guys on D - a little toughness just coming into their own in the NHL. Belliveau is just an EHL throwin.

Money talks, BS walks. Offer enough and see who bites. Plus if Byram trade materializes, you add fillers and see who you can get

All this discontent...

Clifton hit people.. but he didn't have the strength or size to engage in sustained physical battles.  I'm not suggesting Timmins will be an improvement, but losing Clifton ain't that big of a deal and neither is the pick, since the mantra on here, rightfully so, has been obtain roster players.

Timmins is a pushover _ please explain, cuz I have found that nowhere. Belliveau will be lucky to make Rochester, but Timmins looks semi-solid

You don't contribute to offensive production like that unless you're hard to play against. I wonder why he's bounced around the league.

Seems Pittsburgh fans are mixed on the trade, although those who like it clearly don't know Clifton.

I was looking for examples of hard-to-play against, but didn't find any examples in my quick search. I'll share the highlights, though.

I would have given a draft pick to get rid of Clifton. He was so bad in Boston that they benched him for most of the playoffs, so Adams rewards him with a 3 year/$10m contract. Hopefully Jaro talks him out of these types of signings
