Kesselring-scored his first NHL Goal on Levi and had his first Gordie Howe Hatrick (His Words Thorny not mine) at KBC.

Wait what’s my issue with Gordie Howe hat trick

I thought someone else had a goal, assist and fight before Gordie Howe

Well now I DO have a problem with it. Thank you for bringing it to my attention

I will say Michael Kesselring is a great interview, who was roommates with Josh Doan.

They will be living together in Buffalo

I'm sure they will enjoy their season here until they are traded at the deadline as Terry and Adams don't want to pay anyone to try to actually win.

They didn't really have great success in Buffalo,  so no,  that's not who i meant.

Care to take another guess? Clue- their names are on the cup.

Well to be fair.. Cozens looked better in Ottawa for sure than Buffalo... Skinner did go to a cup final... but certainly didnt contribute... Mitts was surprising, he started the year top 10 in scoring and then crashed and burned... he seemed like he was progressing here and then boom...

I think we tend to overvalue our players more than other teams do. Some teams may have been hesitant to give a young guy such a big contract. I think Utah’s owner is trying to copy Vegas and throw money at players to speed up their success, which may or may not work.

I look at the trade like we needed a right steering wheel snowplow, which are hard to get, so they cost more. We got a big fast one with low mileage, and they threw in a rugged snowblower, but we had to give up one of our sports cars to get it. We still have some sports cars, and some still on the production line, but we filled a need. Now we need to see if we can use other assets to get one or two dependable performance cars that have some mileage on them.

Did he do? Did he?

Ehlers signing coming in soon 🙂

Nope

(a) Ehlers turned down a trade to Buffalo recently - why would he openly sign here?

(b) UFA doesn't begin until next week

Come on, Every Ottawa fan was saying after 10 games how much they started to understand buffalo fans about Cozens.

I wonder if the priority was getting the best return possible

We’ll never know

Of course the priority is/was to get the best return possible.  But how that is defined is what we'll never know.  (In all realistic likelihood.)

a - He did ?

b - Isn't the tampering week already upon us ?  Teams can talk with free agents before that I believe.

The bloom fell off his lily fairly quickly iirc. Seems lots of players get a boost after being traded only to level off and fade. Steve Bernier anyone?

I remember when we traded Savoie every laughed and now know one in the media brings it up anymore.

Wrong on Cozens.

Ehlers reportedly was okay with a trade to Buffalo but would not negotiate an extension at the time. Probably to walk him to the much more lucrative, higher cap Summer of '25.

A. all rumors, but s lot of heavy insider said so

B. I might be wrong, but think that starts 7/1??  They get through the draft first then go to tampering
