Bills with a really great win.  Best game the defense has played in a while.  Mahommes passed for 44% today, his first time ever under 50%.  Hairston and Bishop both really stepped up.  I hope what we saw is their new normal   If it is they will elevate everyone.

Unfortunately we will lose Hoecht, he made a big impact in 2 games.

Allen had a fine game.  So did Cook and Kincaid.   The offense did good, but it still feels like the play calling is holding them back.

The last offensive series leading to the missed FG was just too conservative.  Perfect time for Allen and run/pass options. One more first down and you’re comfortably taking knees.

Overall a great win.  The Bills can make a run for the Super Bowl.  I Billieve!

Oh, and Sabres-Bills weekend W’s feel fantastic!

That’s the most I’ve seen the Bills D get to Mahomes in a game.

Hairston can be a difference maker if he keeps developing. Best game I have seen Bishop play.

Still think they need to add an impact WR.

I asked my friends who has reffed amateur sports.  He said there's some discretion there.  The ball hitting a player isn't automatically an illegal touch and since the lineman had his back to Mahommes it wasn't considered an illegal touch.

Illegal touch.  A lineman is not allowed to catch the ball.

Thanks, didn't remember that.

Cole Bishop's 4 passes defended is tied for 4th most ever by a Bill. Nate Clements (5, 2002), London Fletcher (5, 2006), and Terrence McGee (6, 2008) are the only Bills with more.

That's why you hear about linemen reporting eligible in goal line offenses.  If they are an offensive lineman, they are not allowed to catch a pass.  But if they report eligible, they can catch a pass (and more importantly for most of these plays, they can line up as a receiver or tight end and it's not an illegal formation).

That and he was very clearly throwing to the guy standing directly next to him. I swimming if it hit the lineman there with no one anywhere near him then they call it.

If you take a look at the top of the running and passing stats you will see exactly what this team needs to be. Cook and Kincaid led the way. It’s a completely different game with Kincaid back and healthy.

I thought about this for a bit, and I don’t agree.  While I’m with you that an additional first down would have iced the game, on that drive the Bills converted one first down and then ran three times to burn the clock as much as possible. I think that was the correct play.  KC didn’t have any time outs after the missed FG. And if the FG is good, game over right there.

Long story short, I’ll take three run plays and a 47 yard try with :40 to go versus the risk of an incompletion and double the time left. I think the Bills had it right.

My biggest gripe is McD using five of his six timeouts on Def/Special Teams. I mean, come on lol

Illegal touch.  A lineman is not allowed to catch the ball.

That may be the official rationale, but the reality is it was the refs giving Kermit a "makeup call" for having had the audacity to call him for grounding the drive before when the Bills lineman's hand grazed the ball on the one Mahomes intentionally grounded.

It also was VERY close to having been touched by a Bills lineman before hitting the lineman in the helmet so pretty sure that also went into giving him the benefit of the doubt.  This is the crew that called the WR for illegal motion or offsided on the Home Run Throw Forward Kelce had the last time they played in the RS in KC to take away their TD so they were on their best behavior to try not to give the Swifties sads.

Have seen Allen called for that exact play that Mahomes didn't get called for.  Had Mahomes not gotten called for the grounding earlier expect there's a reasonable chance KC does get called there (say reasonable, not that it's likely, intentional or not KC gets calls other teams don't get; just like Filly gets calls on the tush push that others don't get) but not after the controversy of the earlier call.  My 2 cents, YMMV.

They took an offensive time out and ran it up the middle.  How about roll Allen right, and show the intent to run, then back off and look for pass to a big target, we have several.   If the pass is not there Allen tucks it in and runs, and stays in bounds.

A run/pass option. He has done this play many, many times with success for prior OC's.

Or run the plays that they did, run out the play clock, take the 5 yard penalty, and punt it inside the 10 instead and in a corner.  Instead of kicking a FG with an injured kicker and giving them the ball at midfield.

My nether regions were tingling watching him play tonight.

Gotta wonder if Bishop having Poyer back there with him helped steady the young man a bit.

Or motivate him

There was pretty clear confusion on the field for at least 3 of those defensive timeouts. I think it was the last one where KC actually snapped the ball while one of the corners wasn’t even facing the play and still talking the the LB about where they should be lining up.

They had the one where an incomplete deep pass happened after the timeout, but that only happens because half the players have stopped running after the whistle. Some of those time outs may have actually been game savers.

It confused me because the broadcast didn’t even seem to care. But then again, half the time they’re too busy trying to work in a 13 second reference.

I’ll say it again:  McD can coach my team as long as he wants.

McD and Beane are a terrific duo and are in sync. Pegula has struggled to get the upper staffing right for the Sabres but has hit a home run installing the leadership for the Bills.

Our OL play in this game was terrific. It created running lanes even when the opposition knew we were going to run.

Kincaid played well. The holding call on Knox was so marginal. Referring is a tough job. But whatever happened to good judgment and discretion.

The Bills’ fans are blessed to have Josh Allen as their qb. He’s an all-pro player and good guy.

Who does more commercials? Kevin Hart or Josh Allen?

Our fans crack me up. I’m seeing a bit of outrage over him calling a couple defensive timeouts, conveniently leaving out that there was obvious confusion on the field each time. There have been issues at times with calling timeouts, but not yesterday.

Anyone know of a reliable place to get Chris Brown calls? Sometimes bills.com has a mix of Brown and the national voice. Looking for all local...

Not only do I like Chris, I tend to dislike the national guys. Jim Nantz really bugs me.

More information about NFL jersey numbers and having to report as "eligible".
