Giroux independently moved one foot forward (lifting it off the ice) to make contact in the desired direction. I really can't think of a word in English that describe a motion of a willful lift of the leg to make contact with an object. I don't care if they call a bench minor...but he has to show some EMOTION that the call was pure BS!
