Carolina is the best team the Sabres have faced this year. This is a good measuring stick game. First team we've faced that is as fast as us. They are smothering us in their end. But we aren't out of it.

The problem is the Canes are hacking and whacking and the refs are ignoring too many calls.  On a powerplay, Cozens' stick was slashed in half by Burns- should have been a 5-on-3, but no call.

They look good. The look like a young team playing a really good team.

The only officiating I had a problem with was the no call on the slash. A 5 on 3 would have been nice.

We played well in the early part of the first but Carolina has slowly kind of taken over. They aren't killing the Sabres but we are having to work really really hard in both ends and are having trouble getting shots to the net between the blocks and the back checks getting sticks in lanes.

Sabres are doing a lot of circling in the Canes zone without any real shots on goal.

Good call.  Carolina is playing great team D and is creating a ton of clean high-danger chances on O.

The Sabres can beat them but they need to turn up the intensity on the forecheck and realize how little room the Canes are giving them to stickhandle and pass.

Sabres are doing a lot of wheeling and dealing in the offensive zone but it's all to the outside. Whenever they try to get inside the Canes either converge on them or get sticks in the way of passes.

They are really good...very impressed especially with the way they play team D.

Sabres are getting destroyed on faceoffs again too which doesn't help.

ESPN has shown the Sabres love (at least in the 1st). They want Tage to get giraffin' but the Canes take away his time and space really well --- like the first 4 games of the year.

They have been saying a lot of good things about the Sabres, but they are having a major drool fest over Ahole, but for good reason.
