Rumors and Speculation Part II

Why are we not reported to be in on these types of moves?  Are we not in a similar stage of the rebuild as Toronto?  Have they now blown way ahead?  Do we not have assets that could be dealt and also have a great need to improve the D?

I fail to see any ammo Toronto might have that we don't

Maybe we are in, who knows?  It doesn't matter what's reported as much as it does what's actually going on behind the scenes.

True, but these guys usually have a pretty good grasp on what's going on behind the scenes.

Although nobody in the hockey universe saw Subban for Weber happening last year

any interest in Calvin Da Haan or is he not good?

DeHaan should definitely be a target: mobile second pairing in his mid-20s on a team with protection problems.

Islanders fans say he was consistently dependable last year.

And would probably be cheaper then the Top Tier Defenseman to acquire.

Every single core guy has a no-trade.

Toews and Kane would put virtually every team in the league except Vegas into serious cap, trouble.

Keith remains a relative contract (not cap) bargain and Seabrook is cap suicide.

The only ones with even a sliver of a chance of moving are Hossa and Crawford.

Hossa and a first to the Knights for a promise to take Kruger?

JBot will bring in at least two d-men: a veteran free agent and a younger trade acquisition.

I'd say somebody we whavemt talked about, but there aren't many of those left, so "not Vatanen, Brodin or Fowler (or any Duck, for that matter)

I'd love to get de Haan, get Housley, and until Guhle gets up to the NHL we could run

de Haan-Risto

McCabe-Bogo

Gorges/Falk-Antipin

Tell Bogo to forget being a defensive defenseman and to play open like the 30 games near the end of 15-16 and with Housley's help we could have 5/6 Dmen capable of jumping up into the play, and then when Guhle comes we'd have 3 D pairs with the ability to cause chaos from anywhere.
