Official 2015 NHL Draft Thread

McDavid is meeting with a hand specialist tomorrow to undergo further tests. Extent of injury unknown but most are saying a fracture of some kind could be anywhere from 4weeks to a couple months.

I hear Jack Eichel punches trees in his spare time to strengthen his hands.

Now we find out if Strome is actually good.

Earlier than I expected to but should provide valuable insight. I am not a Strome fan because he reminds me of not as good Reinhart. By that I mean a playmaking center with decent skating and good hands. I just think Samson is better and we already have him.

Not to worry....that hand will loosen right up over the course of 15 Buffalo winters......

Who was the putanna that told me I was a fool for mentioning Lattimore and McGahee?

And you can still draft McDavid with the Islanders pick at #12.....

That's adorable.

Strome doesn't play on the same line as McDavid.

McDavid being out will force Strome into a bigger role and still do what your comment said, but if you're thinking they play the same line it's not true.

It is hand injury. McGahee and Lattimore suffered MCL and ACL knee injuries. I don't see the connection.

That's a little harsh, isn't it?

And I didn't know you were Greek.

I mean it as a term of endearment....and plus it is a pleasant enough sounding word that doesn't get filtered.

Bottom line, we have non-stop propoganda about blowing multiple seasons of a pro league for a 20% shot to get a guy who we knew this could happen to....and then it happens.

A crushed hand is probably worse than an ACL for a guy like this.

Holy ballz.....

Running backs RUN with their LEGS.

Playmakers and Scorers use their HANDS.

PA can skate as fast as Reinhart at this point. We keep getting told how smart of a playmaker he is.....

I actually knew they weren't on the same line, so it's sorta weird you decided to preemptively "correct" me on that.

Of course, they ARE on the power play together. So it's not like they are completely separated on the team either.

Now we see how Strome does against checking lines and without CM on the power play.

Many many before you have thought they were. Was just a clarification in case.

You want a great example? How about that Vanek-Roy-Afinogenov line? Look what happened once those guys stopped facing the opponents second or third best shut down guys.

Yeesh. I try not to think about that. :(

Regarding Strome, if you check out the Otters' highlights or just the box scores, it's sticks out how many PP goals are collaborations between him and McDavid. Then there's the checking line part. Then there's the part where he's suddenly the centerpiece for his team for the first time in the CHL.

If his game doesn't fall off or, better yet, if he can step up, maybe he can make himself the no.4 overall pick this year. I want to believe.

A few jokes were okay. Don't get creepy.

I was talking about you!

No, you're right. Don't worry, you can both outrun me.

I just think this situation highlights what a loser's mentality it is to build a culture of losing for a small chance at getting a superstar. Things change....and right now, McDavid's glove size just changed.

Too bad McDavid was the only forward at top of the draft and a broken hand means he will never play hockey again! Oh wait you might be setting up a clever little jape, so I shouldn't call out the nonsense.
