Sounds like Leino is out, but Ehrhoff is staying. Murray will be looking to sign at least two big UFAs, but will keep Stafford. Didn't sound like there's a plan to help the top two lines, but they did say they need help with scoring (obviously).

Murray described, essentially, what happened this season when he outlined "how to tank".

I wish they would have talked about the "10 players will be gone" comments from the past several weeks.

Sounds like they've had a little friction with the league over player issues, which I like.

Unfortunately, though, in the end, I don't think we have anything to hang our hats on. We'll have to wait until the end of August to really have a handle on where this team is going next season.

Hackett -surgery on knee Nieuwen- Hip, seeing specialist Foligno- spur on ankle getting removed. Anyone hear Myers?
Foligno shoulder surgery Tallinder has the ankle Myers has broken ribs

Myers had broken ribs

Here are five updates on Sabres who couldn’t finish the season. With the schedule finally over, most players will reveal what happened to them.

– Goalie Jhonas Enroth said he sprained his right MCL when Montreal’s Brendan Gallagher hit him March 16.

“They told me four to six weeks,” he said. “(Sunday) was four weeks. So it’s starting to get a little bit better. I should be turning the corner here in the next couple days. I’m feeling pretty good right now.”

– Goalie Nathan Lieuwen, who has a scary concussion history, said he’s recovering well from the one he sustained last Sunday in Philadelphia. The rookie, who was in good spirits, wouldn’t rule out playing again this season if Rochester advances in the playoffs.

– Winger Chris Stewart re-injured his right ankle during his first shift Saturday in Boston.

“I just kind of toe-picked and tweaked it the wrong way,” he said. “Just a precaution, just shut it down. It’s just about getting healthy and having a good offseason and coming back strong next year.”

– Defenseman Alexander Sulzer suffered the first concussion of his career March 13 in Carolina.

“It’s the first one,” he said. “So I didn’t know what to expect. It’s not getting better as fast as I was hoping.”

– Goalie Michal Neuvirth would only say he sustained a lower-body injury March 13. Neuvirth finished that game and kept practicing before sitting out a few days. He returned briefly but the Sabres quickly shut him down for the season.

He sure did.

And I think that is what he was referring to with the "manipulate the roster" remark being debated on the other thread.

When it's clear at Christmas you aren't going to make the playoffs, that's when you embrace the tank.

They're (Black, Murray, etc.) going to stop articulating the tank and just make the necessary moves to ensure that they pick high in the 2015 draft.

Did I hear Murray right.....did he say, "free agents have to come to us"?

is that what he said??

Yes. I was wondering about that too.

I hope that meant they will have to "want" to come to us.

The idea of the Sabres waiting for free agents to come to them is ridiculous.

I was unable to hear it but one of the Sabres tweets was about how players are not going to be handed positions. They need to earn it. I like his no-nonsense attitude, but then you think about how Leino played 18+ minutes in the last game. He's talking out of both sides of his mouth. I hate that!

There was no one left to play in that last game, though.

For those of us at work and cannot listen, can anyone expand upon TM's comments on tanking? Did he give any indication they bottomed out and would start rebuilding the roster to make the team competitive next year?

Thanks.
