  1. Saw this on another site... Jhonas Enroth was 16-4-2 in his first 22 decisions in the NHL. In his last 17 decisions, he's 1-12-4. WTF! :censored:
  2. Brad Boyes - 9 GP, 3 Goals Foligno, Stafford, Ott, Grigorenko, Hecht, Kaleta, Gerbe, Scott, Ellis, McCormick - 81 GP, 3 Goals
  3. PP? Faceoffs? Losing by 2 goals after 40 minutes? No physical play? Goaltending?
  4. A 1-5-1 record will do that to all fans of all teams. I'll say this, if the Sabres miss the playoffs again, and his play continues to be up and down,I'm all for trading Miller in the off-season. Sign a goalie in the offseason to compete with Enroth, draft a goalie in the 1st or 2nd round, and hope you can find your next starter from the group of Makarov, Ullmark, 2013 draftee, and to a much much lesser extent...Leggio, Knapp, or Liewen.
  5. Can it be much worse than what has been witnessed recently?
  6. No need to be sarcastic. Just throwing it out there. Like I said maybe I was misreading the comment.
  7. What is up with the coach giving you the tap on the shoulder to go on the ice next and you tell him "no". Is this a sign of a rift between Vanek and Ruff? Maybe I am misreading this, but when the coach tells you to go on the ice, you go...even if it is "Coach for Life" and you are sick of his BS. http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130204/SPORTS/130209697 On Saturday in Montreal, Ruff shut down Vanek’s line for a while “because their numbers were way up after two periods,” the coach said. “ … I called Thomas once tonight and he didn’t want to go because he thought he’d be up with his line next. I was trying to double-shift him in another case. They’ve played a lot of minutes in a lot of situations.”
  8. I was at the game yesterday, and was so disgusted by the performance that I didn't post in this thread yesterday. That's all I've got on this game.
  9. Not unheard of for a rookie to struggle. So they just play Leggio for the rest of the season? Like I said, sounds a lot like Lindy.
  10. Connor Knapp has not seen a single minute of action since 12/22(15 straight games for Leggio). I guess Rolston has been schooled in how to mismanage the goalie rotation by "Coach for Life". So much for Sabres University. I guess Knapp has been in detention for the last month and a half.
  11. The Sabre paid him big money for his SHOT, but they can't figure out how to get him in a position on the PP to be the trigger man. That one is on the coaches.
  12. They weren't elite when Quinny made the claim, and they are even further from that statement now. Numerous draft picks spent on defensemen(Myers, Sekera, Weber, Brennan, Persson, Scheistel, McNabb, MacKenzie, Feinhage, Gragnani, Butler, Pysyk, etc..), ones brought in via F/A(Ehrhoff & Leopold), others brought in via trade(Regehr & Rivet), and this team still sucks in their own end. They excel at NOTHING. Not skating the puck out of their own end, offensive contributions, play in their own zone, physical play, and on and on and on. One 4 goal period masks the problems, we all get excited, and then a 6-1 pasting at the hands of the mediocre Montreal team.

You better not be talking about "Coach for Life"? His supporters will not be happy with you.
  14. - Friggin' embarrassing 1st period. 15-1 SOG? - This team wilts under any pressure in their own zone. Is this the system everyone keeps talking about? Thats all I got.

How can his puck handling be worse than a 4th line AHL player? No offense, no defense, no game awareness...NOTHING. He needs to go in the press box, and not just for one game. Hand the marfan man $10 million dollars, and he falls apart. WTF!
  16. I had DVR'ed the game, and just watched it this morning. I have to say, I had tears in my eyes as I was taken for a stroll down memory lane. The first 5 years or so of the franchise were awesome(I don't think they will ever be matched), the Aud was a great place to watch a game, and Gil Perreault...IMO there will never be a better Sabre. The only downside to the game...seeing that bum Jacques Richard in a Sabre uniform.
  17. Lucic gets called for a penalty, and before play is stopped, Chara is also sent to the box. The Sabres score during the subsequent PP, and out comes Chara. Should Lucic be the one coming out first since his penalty has before Chara's, or since they went off at the same time, the team has the choice of which player comes out first?
  18. - I know Vanek is streaky, but this start is unbelievable. - Myers-Leopold combo...AWFUL. - Miller with some big saves on Lucic. He may not sleep well tonight with nightmares of Miller robbing him. - Weber deserves to stay in the lineup. Even if it means that they dress 7 defensemen. - Nice to see some others contributing on offense. - Stafford was invisible. What a waste of talent. - Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville are saving this from being a disastrous start to the season. - The Sabres were awful in their own end for almost the entire game. It was almost as if Boston had an extra skater out there. - Nice to see Chara look foolish on the Hodgson goal. Finished a "-3". How's that taste Z?
  19. In the 7 years since the previous lockout, Miller has been in the top 10 in save % 3 times....finishing 2nd, 8th & 10th.
  20. Just because Lindy gave him 3rd line minutes, doesn't mean he is a 3rd line player. Looking at his career, he was a 4th line player who should have been getting 6-8 minutes a game plus PK minutes, and absolutely no PP time.
  21. Absolutely agree. Here is a guy not AFRAID to hit and fight, and yet back to the press box he goes.
  22. Gaustad hit the 30 point mark only twice, and never belonged anywhere other than the 4th line. Even if Foligno is a 3rd line talent who can fill in on a scoring line in a pinch, he will be miles ahead of where Gaustad's career has gone. Sidenote on Gaustad...if he had remained the player he was when he first came in the league, he would still be a Sabre. Instead, he decided he didn't need to be as much of a physical presence as his career progressed, and therefore become an overpaid 4th line player with NO offensive skills.
