  1. I have no problem with a domed stadium, and would actually consider buying season tickets if we ever got one. I have several issues with this proposal... 1 - Location. OP is the perfect spot, and if they ever decide to build a new stadium, it should be built where one of the existing stadium lots are today. 2 - Convention Center. Forget about it. We barely have use for the one we have now, and Buffalo is not exactly the mecca of convention destinations. Can you imagine going to a convention, and finding out there is nothing else there but a barren waterfront? 3 - Retractable Roof. Waste of money. Either open air stadium or dome. Not both. 4 - Ownership. A new stadium proposal should not even be open for discussion, until new Bills ownership is in place. In the meantime, spend the 100+ million on fixing up RWS.
  2. I will summarize... Fehr..."blah blah. blah blah blah. blah." What a surprise he claims the players are getting screwed. Ask me if I care.
  3. I've gone to my "Happy Place" when it comes to the Bills. If I watch the game, okay. If I don't watch, okay. Win or lose, okay. They have just become irrelevant to me after following them in a diehard manner since the late 1960's.
  4. Stupid on field trophy presentation for the AL Championship. 20 minutes standing around while they setup a stage. Turn the players loose in the locker room, break out the champagne, and put it on the big board so the fans can watch.
  5. Why isn't political phone spam not a part of the "do not call" registry? [edited] I know by law they are allowed, but they shouldn't be. Freaking annoying!
  6. If they aren't playing hockey by December 1st, I am seriously going to consider giving up my partial share of season tickets in 12-13, follow them on TV when I can absolutely not find anything else to do, and add them to my list of irrelevant things, which already includes the Buffalo Bills. Hockey in Buffalo has SUCKED for the most part since the start of the 07-08 season, why am I even upset that they are not playing right now?
  7. The WBEN morning show(John Zak & Susan Rose) give WGR(same ownership) a run for their money. Ever since the election primaries started, they rehash the same political crap over and over and over again. Same political analysts over and over and over again. Day after a debate...debate talk for 4 hours. Day after a debate...debate talk for 4 hours. Jam in weather and traffic a couple of times an hour, and that is your 4 hour show. Sorry but if I want to hear about politics for a 4 hour period, WBEN wouldn't be in my top 500 list. Hire some reporters and cover some local stories, or just read the Buffalo News local section word for word. GIVE IT A REST!
  8. Looks like my stance on the "pending agreement" was a good one to take. ;)
  9. I wish their would be some sort of compensation system in place for UFA's as part of a new CBA? It sucks for the teams that lose UFA's either because players don't want to stay, or they can't afford them. Why can't there be draft picks awarded in a similar manner to how the NFL does it? PS I am cautiously optimistic about a deal getting done. I don't trust Fehr to settle this quick. I will get excited when a deal is actually announced and not a second before hand. :nana:
  10. That sucks. I know I am in the minority, but I thought he had top 6 potential, and he would add something not seen much in the top 6 during recent years...an element of physicality/toughness.
  11. The Amerks website has 29 players listed on the roster. I would assume at least 6 of those players will either be assigned to the ECHL or released. If not, they better make more room in the press box for healthy scratches. http://www.amerks.com/team.asp 16 Amerks games will be televised in Buffalo and Rochester this season... http://www.amerks.com/newsX.asp?type=News&aID=620
  12. Yeah. Clearly a union picket. Just don't know what construction trade was being targeted.
  13. Before yesterday, I hadn't taken a ride through the area in a few weeks. Things are moving fast... 1 - Exterior walls going up on Donovan building. 2 - Casino steel is going up. 3 - New park space on outer harbor land(north of where Shooters used to be) is already cleared. For those who didn't know, this is where they stored the ice boom for many years. The ice boom is now stored on a site along the Buffalo River a little bit in from the Ohio St. Bridge. 4 - Canal work on Aud site is still full steam ahead. Not sure what the timeline was on this, but I don't see it being done, and ready for any winter activities(ice skating) this year. 5 - Alumni plaza next to the FNC is coming along. It looks like French Connection statues are in place, but covered up. 6 - Webster block fenced off, and no cars were parked there. Not sure if this is temporary, or they are ready to put a shovel in the ground. 7 - Of course you can't have all this construction going on without a picket line in place, so a group of 50-100 picketers were at the entrance to the Donovan construction site. Not sure what it was all about.
  14. Ah...Drinking around the "world" at the food & wine festival. Never tried it, but have heard a lot about it. Good luck.
  15. Okay so maybe my expectations of them playing 90+% of the plays is not realistic, but here are the number of snaps to date... M.Williams 83% M.Anderson 76% M.Dareus 67% K.Williams 67% C.Kelsay 38% A.Carrington 33% I'd like to see Mario closer to 90%, and if K. Williams and fatass Dareus can only play 2/3 of the snaps, there is a problem....especially considering they are considering good pass rushers and are not removed from the game on obvious passing downs.
  16. I will have to google later on. There used to be a site that showed how many snaps each player was in for. I'd like to know how the Bills DL starters compare with other elite DL around the league.
  17. If that is the case, how come the OL doesn't rotate?
  18. I'm sick of this DL rotation crap. Williams, Williams, Dareus & Anderson should be out on the field all game except for maybe a quick 1-2 play break each half, and even that might not happen, unless the defense is on the field for large chunks of each half. I don't know if that is Biff's(Chan's GT buddy) idea, but cut the crap already. These guys aren't being made $$$ to sit on the sideline.
  19. I'm just glad Grigs decided to play in the Q versus going home to play in the KHL. I have a feeling that would have been a bad omen.
  20. Embassy Suites. You always get free wireless?
  21. First formal meetings in about two weeks, that will probably result in both sides leaving the table by lunch(maybe they will wait until after lunch in order to get another free meal in) on Saturday. YAWN!!!!! Wake me up when it is over.
  22. Hotels charging for wireless access! Not only should you not be charging your customers for this service, but you are really bending me over when you want to charge me your $12.95 per day rate, PER DEVICE! Raise the room rates if you have to to offset your wireless internet costs, but don't rub this ridiculous fee in my face.
  23. They need to follow the lead of Hockey Central(FAN590 12-1PM), and go on hiatus every summer. Either get rid of the show completely until the lockout ends, or have Sylvester open the discussion to all sports. Calling the show "painful" at this point, is an massive understatement!
