  1. No, but it might have meant a lot to Z to play for his country.
  2. Saw in the Buffalo News that the Sabres would not allow Girgensons to play for Latvia in the WJC. Would it have really killed his already slow development to be away from the Amerks for 2-3 weeks?
  3. The only reason I want to see even a 40 game season at this point...it will take another year off the contracts of Miller & Vanek leaving them with 1 year remaining(13-14).
  4. I wonder if Rolston is in over his head? Maybe Sabres University needs coaches with experience at the pro level, instead of a guy who was never a head coach of a team consisting of anyone over the age of 17.
  5. Bought a new snowblower last month(high end toro), and not a snowflake to be found. For once, I'm begging for snow to play with my new toy, and instead it is nothing but an expensive insurance policy....sor far. LOL.
  6. I continue to wonder if Rochester is the best place for Girgensons. I'd really like to see him somewhere where he can develop his offensive game. I don't want to see those skills never developed, and then end up with him being a 3rd/4th line center because of it. I don't think they will, but do the Sabres have the option of sending him to the WHL at this point in the season?
  7. What a terrible tragedy for the families of the victims who will never get over this, but also the surviving young children at the school whose parents are now left to try and explain to their children what just happened. My daughter is a freshman at Brockport and was one dorm over from the girl who was killed by her wacko boyfriend in September. I was really shook up by that. Now this.
  8. I thought McNabb's play with the Sabres last year was extremely overhyped. Made a couple of big hits, somebody starting calling him McNasty, and all of a sudden he was going to be the next coming of Scott Stevens, Scott Niedermayer, and Niklas Lidstrom all rolled into one. Maybe he will end up being a top 4 NHL defenseman, but I think he has a long way to go. As you pointed out, the Sabres have so many blueliners coming up, that it won't take much to get passed on the depth chart.
  9. Neither Tropp or Hodgson were going to be on the Amerks anyways if there was no lockout. Is it the Sabres fault that Mancari who has previously dominated at the AHL level has now decided to SUCK? The only legit complaints I can see is dressing less than the maximum number of players and maybe forgoing ONE of the spots for a youngster getting 4th line AHL minutes in favor of another AHL vet. I thought that kind of "cheapness" was no longer around in the Pegula era.
  10. Whats new in term of Girgensons game? I know he has been putting goose eggs up on the scoresheet, but how has his play been otherwise?
  11. To all the SS members and their families, have a safe and happy thanksgiving!!!
  12. I don't think I can go wrong with Samsonite, but looking for advice on luggage with "spinner" wheels versus traditional two wheels. The way luggage gets bounced around at the airport and on a plane, the "spinner" wheels seem like a target to get broken easily. So which type should I choose?
  13. Give it a rest. Isn't there a young southern belle around that will distract you from your jekyll and hyde ramblings.
  14. I work in a fairly large complex(multiple buildings) with 2000+ employees. I hate when people walk by me(if we are the only two people in the hallway), and they stare at their shoetops as you pass them, instead of a quick smile/nod/hello. Even if I don't know you, you don't have to act like an unfriendly prick.
  15. At the risk of repeating myself...call me when a deal is signed. Anything other than this is nothing but false hope.
  16. NYCM through a local broker. Used to be with Erie Insurance until my daughter got her license, and the rates to add her on, were out of this world.
  17. Likewise. How can something so confusing to read be so popular?
  18. Seriously, I hope there is some sort of protest on the marathon route in Staten Island. Bloomberg would get even more bad publicity as cops are hauling away Staten Island residents who are currently homeless or still have a home without any utilities.
  19. The decision by Bloomberg to let the marathon go on, is mind boggling. I hope the voters remember this when it comes time for re-election. http://newyorkpost.com/p/news/local/this_is_no_way_to_get_us_up_running_egrMk4ukpzFCGhSF8oM5kN ...and I'll add my WOW to the non-union workers being turned away.
  20. How was this going to be resolved if he didn't make the cut with the Sabres...and I don't thing he was a sure thing to make the big club? His team would still have the problem they have today.
  21. I cannot believe the pics from NYC. I can't see how the are going to get the subway fully operational for at least a week. The houses that caught fire in Rockaway. LaGuardia under water.
  22. There was one weather channel idiot(he may have been from a network affiliate) who was right on the waters edge last night trying to broadcast with waves crashing over his head. I was hoping the dumba$$ would get swept out to sea. At least the always enjoyable Jim Cantore has the sense to say, "listen folks, if this water gets any higher, we may have to head out"(he was at battery park). On a related weather channel note, does Stephanie Abrams have a brain?
  23. Maybe Rolston is geting some tips from Lindy on goaltending rotation?
  24. I don't want any crappy 3 month season. Either start playing games by 12/1, or I hope the owners lock your a$$es out for the entire season! What's wrong Quinny? Still pouting over the fact that no one liked your hulking nets and blue ice?
