Any restaurant that serves generic crap cola(anything other than Pepsi or Coke), can go f*** themselves. The meal could be great, and you will never see me again. Seriously, how much are you saving by doing this, when you are already making a killing by charging anywhere from $2-$3 for a glass of pop that is costing them pennies.

Sabretooth73 come back for old times sake. I know you were lovin' last nights game! :)

In honor of the poster(I don't even remember his name) who couldn't bear the thought of any Pittsburgh sports team having any success, I'd just like to say GO GIANTS. That poster had some EPIC rants. LOL. F*** ######$$burgh!

If you get the Big Ten Network, plenty of opportunities this year to see Compher and Fasching(see attachment)... Also several chances to see Notre Dame in action(prospects Cal Peterson and Connor Hurley)... http://www.und.com/s...ckey-sched.html

Ooops. I forgot about Pysyk. Helps somewhat, but still a very pedestrian group.

My roster thoughts a week before the season starts.... - Reinhart has shown very little against his peers in the rookie camp and the Traverse City Tournament, and against the big boys in training camp. That being said, I think he gets his 9 games, hopefully with top 6 players including PP time. If he shows little, I am torn between playing him sheltered minutes the rest of the season as a Sabre or sending him back to the WHL. - Grigs has shown improvement, but while Reinhart is getting his 9 game tryout, I'd love to see Grigs go to the AHL, tear it up, and either get called up if Reihnhart gets sent back or as the first injury callup. - Stewart has been impressive in the preseason, but we've all seen inconsistent players in the past become really good in contract years. Be careful TM, be very very careful. - I like Larsson a lot as a 3rd line player. Too bad about the concussion symptoms. I think he was going to make the team. - Hodgson, Ennis, Stafford, Stewart, Gionta, Moulson, Girgensons in the top 9. That leaves two spots, plus 3 more on the 4th line. I don't have any idea how this plays out. - This may be Foligno's last chance to show he belongs as anything more than a 4th line grinder. - I still think goaltending could be a train wreck this year. - Risto stays, Zadorov back to juniors and McCabe starts the year in Rochester. That leaves your top 7 as Risto, Gorges, Myers, Weber, Ruhwedel, Meszaros & Benoit. This group could be a surprise, or could be below average. Things I would love to see this season... - Girgensons takes a big step up offensively. - Armia and Grigorenko both show they can DOMINATE at the AHL level. - Reinhart is a pleasant surprise, stays with the big club and puts up 30-35 points. - Myers reverse his career downward spiral, and looks like a top 4 blueliner once again. - Hodgson transition to wing proves to be a good move. - TANK...I won't be cheering for the Sabres to lose, but won't be disappointed if they do so.

I didn't see the entire game, but from what I did see, I would agree? Still not sure that Rochester isn't the place for him to start the season.

I can understand giving some of the kids a chance to play in a preseason game as a reward for performing hard in training camp, but why would you ever dress guys who are career AHL'ers. i.e. Bagnall, Ellis, Strachan, etc.... What's the point? Ellis doesn't belong anywhere near the NHL ever again, so why would he be in a preseason game lineup instead of Rinehart?

Have the Sabres announced any training camp cuts? When does Amerks camp start?
-
Didn't mean to insult those who couldn't make it. Just pissed that the organization makes the effort to bring these events to Buffalo, give the tix to STH for free, and then IMO get a disappointing turnout.

Yes a generational/superstar talent does not guarantee a Cup(s), but they would make for a great time at FNC win or lose for a decade or more, and would at the very least make the team competitive...if a decent job is done with the supporting cast.

Thanks. Somehow I overlooked the RPI game on 12/13. First game of the World Juniors is not until 12/26. [edited]Damn...Just realized I am flying back from Florida on 12/13 in the PM.

In past years there have been a handful of Amerks games broadcast on TWC. Not sure about this year.

Just got home from the game. As expected some super skilled players, and almost all with great skating ability. Game got a little "all star" like in the 3rd, but I'd rather see the skill level come out in the players versus a tight checking game. Eichel is every bit as good as advertised. I wish he was playing in a college game in WNY or even Central New York this season, but unfortunately, nothing close. PS Shame on the STH who couldn't be bothered to show up for the game that was included with their package. It was probably some of the most exciting hockey you will see at the FNC this year. They announced 7k, but I would have guessed closer to 5k. So much for Hockey Heaven.

I'm guessing no more than 10k. -

Just got home from the game. I'd like to fill you in with the details, but spent more time getting caught up with old friends versus watching the game closely. Except for the first 10 minutes where the Sabres had some good pressure, and when the 2 goals were scored, the game was pretty boring. That's all I've got! ...Actually I forgot one thing. The construction workers were still out there at 10PM working on HarborCenter. -

I will be there. Nobody else in our season ticket group wanted them. I figured that this may be one of the better chances to see a win this season. -
Why is this Nolan analytics argument cluttering up the training camp thread?

I am really not interested in Grigorenko, Armia and any other offensively skilled prospect competing/battling/going in front of the net etc... Until I see that they show they have the ability to score at the NHL level, they are useless to me. Some guys have the ability to raise their skills to the NHL level, and others reach their potential at the amateur level. We will see with them. PS I may be in the minority, but I didn't see much of a different Grigs last night, than the one we have seen the last two years.- 104 replies

I am easily annoyed when a business can't get customer things(in this case fans) correct. They open practice to the public, print out sheets with player names/number, then they come out in practice jerseys with neither. I stayed 15 minutes this morning and then left. My advice to anyone interested in going, don't bother.

Can Grigorenko EVER skate an entire shift without falling to the ice? For such a big guy, he is not strong on his skates AT ALL.- 104 replies

I think he is everything the Sabres need in a 3rd line center. He has size, speed, is a good defensive player, will play the body, and at the same time chip in 15-20 goals and 40-45 points a year. It is a perfect fit to me.
-
I want Girgensons to play center all season. Don't screw around and play him on the wing again. He is going to be the Sabres 3rd line center for 10+ years. The sooner he gets accustomed to that role, the better.
