You guys are smoking crack. 3 NHL players in one draft is fantastic drafting. A solid top 6 winger that easily does well as a top 3, a 30ish goal sniper, and a 4th line pest is a hell of a draft result. As for Lemieux not being a successful draft pick, he’s already beaten the odds of a 2nd rounder having an NHL career, JAG or not.

Interesting. And may explain why young players fade as the season progresses. If they have to give 100% to stay competitive, what happens when they wear down and the rest of the league is just starting to ramp up? It also explains why the game really starts to change in the last 1/3 of the season.

He was an underdog that was easy to root for. He showed some attitude with that Dahlin training camp hit that was woefully underrepresented in Buffalo. Would have been a nice story for Pekar to beat the odds and develop into an NHL player. Oh well.

I’m not convinced that trade worked out for Vegas.

In my experience Syracuse is pretty mixed. I wouldn’t assume Sabres loyalty much east of Rochester.

Power is so different than Dahlin that it will be difficult to compare. I think Dahlin has more raw talent and will always be flashier. I think Power is headier, calmer, and his size with plenty of talent will result in a different kind of advantage. I could see Power’s game resulting in a James Patrick length career too.
