  1. Can’t wait to drive out to Sabreland and watch a scrimmage.
  2. Check out Rick Beato’s channel.
  3. I hope he doesn’t get picked up by another team on waivers, but I think biding his time in a 7/8 role and waived to go to Rochester is about 50/50 odds.
  4. Did anyone watch the tribute to Taylor Hawkins today? Not gonna lie, I was holding back tears at spots.
  5. Who knew Bills Mafia is the chosen ones and the Superbowl is the rapture.
  6. I have absolutely no idea what to expect.
  7. Friday, and bi-annual bonus hit the bank account today. *adjusts monocle*
  8. I’m expecting Vinnie will see at least 65 games this season. He’s valued by the Sabres staff.
  9. I think he takes the under because for over a decade it’s been the winning bet.
  10. Putin uses ground to exact revenge.
  11. If his complaint is blocking for powerplay time he sure won’t like Buffalo. Dahlin and probably Power are gonna monopolize the PP.
  12. You may not agree with the statement that the board is unwelcoming, but we’ve had many new or fairly infrequent posters mention it. Your perspective isn’t the new guys perspective. I think we all need to accept that we aren’t as welcoming as we think we are.
  13. Ugh. The corporate colors of an actual criminal enterprise. That era needs to be scrubbed from the team, not glamorized.
  14. Not old fashioned. Risk averse. Making risk averse decisions is safe. But it never gives you the opportunity to have a player at a high value contract because you don’t offer the deal until both you and the players agent have a very concrete idea of value. It also results in the team affording fewer impact players because you’ve waited until their contractual worth is at their highest before locking them in. The reason TP is paying alot of money for a large analytics team is to make value decisions on obtaining players, and offering players contracts before their value had been fully set. TT is the first big test of the analytics team IMO.
  15. Might be a bit of a red flag there. Will be interesting to see how this evolves.
  16. We get a better sense of KAs risk tolerance with this deal. Obviously, he’s made a decision that Tage’s game is repeatable. It doesn’t signal we won the ROR trade, but it sure makes it easier to swallow since we are now pretty much certain that one asset in the trade stuck and is worth keeping. Signing a certain defenseman and him panning out WOULD signal that we just might have one the trade. *if you ignore that StL brought home a cup on the back of that trade*
  17. Is Hutchins still a thing? Decades ago I bought crossover materials from them. edit- apparently not. No evidence of their existence on pgs 1 and 2 of a google search.
  18. Z is a bottom of the roster player. I don’t think it is realistic to expect more than 15-18 goals from the bottom of your roster. Even the bottom of Tampas roster was 15-19 goals.
  19. Z is as consistent as a clock. We know what we are getting every season. I think he might see a slight uptick in points given the team around him has a bit more offensive skill. I also think even the top teams need a Z in their lineup. His future here will depend on whether KA has his future plans set up around accommodating Zs salary in the bottom 6. Given we don’t really have another Z in the pipeline, he may get another contract.
  20. This is an excuse for boorish behavior. There is a time and a place. This is neither.
  21. Can we have a continuous improvement choice instead of a status quo or big time break as the only options?
  22. I hope you’re up close. The small details you miss further away are worth the price difference. And even this old Man was smiling and laughing at getting doused with the soap cannon.
