Would love to see breakdown of giveaways by Sabres

Reminds me a bit of Stamkos early on, had the same problem... he worked hard on it an now a decent defender.

GVA was the crucial nut especially in the offensive zone... led to 2 goals. One at least was on Jack.

Yeh but the Sabres were not getting killed by puck possession in first 2 periods... they were getting killed on the rush making defensive and offensive gaffs after cycling and then not shooting when they had chances

Bergeron/ Sobotka and or KO with ERod simple a checking line a la Luce/Ramsey and whomever...

Talent is there except one more top 4 D... Utilization is another matter.

At least Jack owned it, that’s a start.

Need to put Sheary down a line till he find his legs. But splitiing up Jack and Sam may be a good idea.

Z played decent... have OK sit or waive him.

If it was just last night, but the last couple preseason games looked a bit disjointed especially on sustained pressure in Sabres end. Gaining chemistry with new linemates is a thing. Sabres need to get off to a better start season wise if they have any hope of truly improving. I was hoping but there appears to be a lot of work to do.. sigh:(

That is why a guy like Chris Taylor interests me... Someone with some skill but played a relentless game. Seems to be a positive guy that is always pushing. Housley seems like too much of a sour puss on the bench. Good teacher, just not a motivator... Housley and his Vanek face needs to figure out how to motivate these guys. Chris Taylor intriques me, a talented but tough player, who seems to positively know how to push players. If last nights game continues Housley will need to go. Too much talent here to lay an egg that bad.

Yeh as someone stated in the game thread, no one hit anyone and Jack shied away from them. Can't have the number 1 center Olaying folks.

Definetly need some guys who are tougher in the corners, maybe Bailey even if he cant stay on his feet.

Then again, Bruins looked this bad or worse against Caps last night... so there is hope.

New guys just seemed out of synch as game got faster, especially back on D as well as Bergland Sheary line... Beaulieu was a turnover machine in the offensive zone. Yeh a full on scrimmage practice is needed with stops and starts. How soon till Chris Taylor in new head coach.

Mitts looked decent as well and 4th line was great on forecheck. Eichel line easily worst in defensive zone. May need to switch KO or ERod with Skinner. Maybe put Skinner on with Sheary and Bergland, Sheary line looked the most out of sinc in the offensive zone.

They just looked tentative a good chunk of the night. Didn't help that the D didn't get help on the back end, but the speed of the game seemed to catch them by surprise at times. Especially the Bruins forecheck. Often two players got caught out of position at the same time. Positioning, slow stick work. Just off... Pi was right, they needed the practice or at least the film study. Bruins clogged the middle also back door passed killed us from them. Lack of speed on D didn't help... letting guys get around the corner so easily... Sabres had chances, but didn't shoot when they should and shot when the could have passed... Never felt like the set up in the offensive zone... cycled decent during first two periods, but didn't result in shots. Beaulieu is a turnover machine.
