Yep. As a Democrat, he'll be just another East-coast liberal when the tar-machine fires up. As an independent, he'll be marginalized in any national election. As a moderate Republican, he becomes very interesting that he *may* drag the party back towards some sort of moderate stance.

Man, it's a shame they have to have a goal siren to pump up the crowd. ;)

FWIW, there's a Nook app for Mac, PC, Web, iDevices, and Android devices. http://www.barnesand...-apps/379003593 It may disappear in time, but you'd hope that if they did kill off the service they'd make provisions for unlocking the books or something. I believe nook is using Adobe Digital Editions under the hood which I've heard there's ways around. ;) I too like having actual books around though, so I know what you mean. that being said, I have a few books that I want to read but it is almost an annoyance that I have to bring the book with me as opposed to my reader when I'm packing light.

I'm going to plug a friend's book, "Conversations with a Motorcycle", by Jack Riepe. Great, funny book about riding and places where I bike can take you. I haven't finished it, but I'm loving it. I'd be surprised if there was any traction before a 41-game season becomes untenable and they're risking losing out on the sponser dollars again. That makes what, mid-January? I don't think it was a coincidence that all the movement a few weeks ago was just before the reasonable deadline for having a 60-game (3/4) season.
