IMHO, Drambuie isn't something you'd drink on it's own. I've done it, it's really sweet and a little syrupy. As someone mentioned, the Rusty Nail (50/50 with whiskey) is awesome. I'm not sure I'd use a nice Scotch with it since the Drambuie may overpower the Scotch, but the peaty note may be interesting. I think I know what I'll be trying later tonight. I've always done it before with whatever Irish or Canadian whiskey I've had on-hand. Michael Collins Single Malt Irish Whiskey is nice. It's like a less-intense Scotch.

This is the first year I've had to do double-Thanksgiving. I think I managed to do it reasonably well since I weigh the same today as I did yesterday. I contributed a savory corn bread pudding to both. Cast iron skillet, sweat onions, rosemary, and thyme with butter. Pour a batter of cornmeal, eggs, cream, cream corn, parmesan cheese, cubed french bread, etc. over the top of the herbs and bake. It's far more moist than average corn bread, and not sweet at all. Great stuff. One of these times I'm going to chop a jalapeno to put in it, but I'm always making it for other people so I don't want to screw it up.

The early PS3s (with four USB ports) did play PS2 games via extra hardware. The later models deleted that functionality. I've never thought about PS1 games, there's probably enough CPU in the PS3 to do the emulation in software.

It's on now (Tuesday, 11:30am). Sounds like this may be Marty's first game, so I'd think it was an emergency. Edit: Not is first game, that was December 26th, 1995. This game is January 1996 so he's played maybe one or two.

And both did some National broadcasts, right? I'm going with that.

Can I plead drunk on that one or do I have to go with incompetence? I have no idea how I got that confused.

Ah, I see now. His player plays it while he's on-sides, then the defender kicks it up and back after that. It just looked like he was out in the middle of nowhere when the ball popped up and I thought the attacking player made the last kick. For the England thing, what you're saying is he's a second-rate Roenick, then? :)

Cinnamon-Cayenne brownies, had to wander around work today giving them away before I ate the entire 8x8 dish. The first thing you get is the cinnamon, which fades into chocolate. Then, the cayenne makes a nice little burn at the end.

The CEO of my company doesn't need to know how to run IT systems, just like the director of the CIA doesn't need to know how to be a spy. So far, Patraeus appears to have been able to keep his secrets, the other party blew the... cover. I like to think that many people can seperate work and home. Hey, that almost makes the National Championship respectable! :) It's tough to imagine there's more than 3-4 teams each year that can legitimately claim to be the best in the nation, and this should sort them out.

Wait, what? College is going to a play-off format? I like it, frankly. You could easily go with 4 or 8 teams and it wouldn't be a huge deal. There can be all those other bowls for fun, of course.

Word I heard was the funding wasn't going to cut immediately, so they'd be able to employ people long enough to send out the notices. As for the political angle, the one defense PAC I looked at leaned red other than 2008 and 2010. I'm guessing once they saw which way the wind was blowing, they donated to some Democrats in 2008. Can't figure out 2010, unless they were donating anti-Tea Party figuing the TP would try to cut everything. 2012 returned to Republican-heavy form. I was talking about this with the GF this weekend. She's taking a remote class in Media Studies (for lack of a better term). When asked to suggest a movie that "portrays contemporary American culture", one of her classmates replied with, "I think we should watch Tokyo Drift. It has lots of action and explosions. I think it's a good movie." (paraphrased, but the writing style is spot-on). Sadly this isn't a glaring outlier from the rest of the responses. These are people that will likely get a college degree and then be counted as 'underemployed'.

FWIW, I just switched to Dairyland for my bikes. It was significantly cheaper than my previous bike insurance, which was significantly cheaper than Nationwide before that. I'll be investigating them for my home and car soon.

Maybe they'll start a tire fire.
