It's good to know that the majority of his numbers came when he was on the ice with Jonathan Drouin.

I'm still holding out hope that we wind up with the steal of that draft.
-
As long as he doesn't learn how to play the puck from Johnson, I'll be happy. edit: And as for the comments about it being only 3 games this year, it's really even less than that given all the time he missed last year too. There's more rust to work off than most are used to seeing from their goalie.

I'm not sure exactly when it started becoming readily available on TV, but I had CVs radio only routine up until right around when I started high school. Going to St. Francis, the closing game was great though. We were linked to something like 5 different districts. If any of them closed, we were closed. It really didn't matter where in the alphabet you were when you tuned in, one of those districts was just seconds away.

I wonder how often Tampa wonders how it would have been with a D pairing of Hedman and Seth Jones.
-
I can't even imagine how that radio routine was in a larger city. In Boston, I think it took about 10 minutes for the ticker on the bottom of the news screen to go all the way through the alphabet.

My thoughts exactly. I can't think of a much quicker way for a young kid to black list himself any quicker, other than maybe killing someone.

I'll be working from home tomorrow (regardless of the weather) and the wife probably gets the day off from school. I figure I'll venture out somewhere with her for lunch. We should be the only ones there.

I don't think there's much of a rush to do so, though. Yesterday's action might force his hand a bit, but there's very little sense in making a trade just to get rid of him. They can sit back and wait for what they feel is a balanced offer.

Clendening (from Niagara Falls) sure is bouncing all over the place, 4 different organizations all within one calendar year. I wonder if he'll ever actually catch on anywhere. He was a very good puck moving d-man in college, but I wonder if all that moving is going to stunt his growth.

Most of the time when it comes to trades, it doesn't matter where a guy was taken in the draft. But here, less than 3 years removed from his drafting, it is very much a factor. There is no "buy low" with him right now. It's going to take a lot more than what people are suggesting here. Personally, I'm not interested. The red flags are too numerous at this point.

The description from LGR sounds exactly like what I'd expect from a guy returning after missing that much time. Like you said, we need to look and see how all of that develops as he gets more starts. There's a whole lot of rust to shake off, and people may not like it, but the only way to shake that off is in the net of multiple NHL games. -
12 cases? Does that mean your homebound for at least a month?
-
The real shame is that the Patriots are probably out in Denver already.

Sorry, I'm too lazy to read through the thread. How was Lehner? -
Good luck to anyone living on the east coast. Based on the news, I'm assuming you're all going to die tomorrow.

He would have been safe in Independence Day as long as he didn't try to get his son a role as well.

Currently flagged in netflix, just never got around to it. That world isn't something that draws in my attention though.

Don't make me angry.

I'm too lazy to compare them to the rest of the league, but with the exception of one season, Osgood's numbers look pretty crappy post-30.

I take way too much pride in getting an entire orange peel off in one piece.

Attention all NC folk: Wegmans is coming to Cary

That "spirits facility" comment caught your eye too, eh? -
Scott might actually need one if he's on a two-way contract.

It's not even about that since the roster rules don't allow for them getting the most marketable guys out there. The sole purpose of the game is to give the majority of the league a break while still lining the owners pockets with a so called showcase event. Aren't a bunch of the wild card games on during the day time and also at the same time as another game is being played? Your comparison is apples to oranges. The all star game is prime time and there is zero competition from the rest of MLB on that day. I'm also not so sure how to look at average numbers over the world series given that there is bound to be a lull for games 2-4 depending on the results and also that they're played on different nights with differing competition each night. I'm a little confused by your definition of "hugely popular". What your numbers likely say is that of the people watching the world series, a good number of them also watch the all star game. So it may be popular among baseball viewers, but it's not popular in a broader sense. They can't even win the night during a slow summer schedule and their numbers are headed south each year.
