  1. It's another vague term, but it's definitely out there. I don't think it's a stretch to think that people would model an attack after a previous one in hopes of hiding their true intent. That or the cases where some idiot thinks a previous event was "cool" and wants to do the same. This garbage is definitely out there. Anyway, I just included it in my list as an example of the numerous types of attacks we are seeing, an intentionally vague example. edit: Actually, I'd wager a guess that these are the kind of plots that the police wind up preventing well in advance. You get some clueless person having now idea what he or she is doing and they send up a million red flags.
  2. Honestly, I'm getting fed up with the terrorism label being thrown at everything. It's too generic a label at this point. Whether it's ISIS conducted, ISIS inspired, or just a frustrated person out for revenge, I'm much more interested in specific labels like that. You get a much stronger idea of their reasoning.
  3. Nothing beats the original. The mixed flavor ones just seem wrong to me.
  4. I think it will be very telling what kind of deal they wind up working out with Ristolainen before next season. Do they go with a bridge deal or do they wind up with something more long term. That may very well paint a picture for how they wind up dealing with our two rookies in a couple years. That also just happens to be the same exact year Kane's deal is done. As Hoss mentioned upthread, you can make these things work, but it's going to be very interesting given that those three all hit in the same year... with or without anything Stamkos related.
  5. Did they ever say much about what the gunmen in France were wearing? I don't remember hearing anything about body armor in either case, but my memory is foggy on that one. This one feels like the lonewolf copycat type scenario to me, granted that's a very early and mostly blind perception of it.
  6. So that answers that question: Doomsday
  7. He's way to pop culture friendly to ever pull out a Streisand reference.
  8. One angry man leaves and returns with two others, fully armed and wearing armor (if that report was true)? That doesn't quite add up.
  9. Just hearing the Aviator name makes me want some wings. I guess I could get some beer to go along with them. None of their stuff has really stuck out to me though.
  10. I'm dying to know the answer to this one.
  11. This reminds me of when I moved and my mother-in-law labeled every single box as fragile (don't ask why she was labeling boxes).
  12. You did read the post, right?
  13. At a facility for people with developmental disabilities? That's the kind of place people are shooting up now? They're taking pathetic up to a whole new level here.
  14. I think you'd be kissing Kane goodbye in a few years if you committed to that deal though. He'll be up for too much of a raise once his deal is done. Now, I'd gladly swap him out of our lineup for Stamkos, but I have a very hard time ever seeing the two of them on the same roster for more than 1-2 years.
  15. I still can't get over the fact that Lidstrom never won a Norris until he was 31 years old... and then wound up with 7 of them. If that's the comparison we really want to run with, we still have 10 years to wait.
  16. I'd love to know why Hanna Barbera felt the need to add their own characters into those shows. Anyway, you want to talk strange, apparently DC actually added them into their comics in the 90s. Why on earth did they decide to bring them back all those years later? They should have left them in the dumpster where they belonged.
  17. I wish there was something special or groundbreaking to the way our search went, but there wasn't. We had bounced from open house to open house back when we were in Boston, just getting a feel for a housing search. After we moved to NC, it was obviously a very different market and we were lucky to have deeper wallets as well. We had a basic idea on a timeframe for when we wanted to buy. We started looking at new construction first, bouncing from neighborhood to neighborhood. After living in a few apartments with serious needs of renovation and maintenance, this was an appealing option, and obviously if we were going to go that route, we would need to start looking early. Typically we'd either find a house we liked, but the neighborhood and plots of lands were lacking, or the other way around. It started to seem a bit iffy, in order to find the right combination you'd either have to sacrifice price or commute distance (pretty standard I'm sure). One day just for the experience, we looked at a new development in my brother's neighborhood. He lives way too far away from our jobs, but if nothing else, it was more experience checking out homes. Later that week, we got a call from that company talking about a new development they were starting that was right near the border of how far we were willing to go. I actually told my wife to not bother calling back because we weren't crazy about what we saw at their first one. But we were out looking one weekend, so we figured we might as well. Thank god for that as it had just about everything we wanted, much better models than the other development, and a great price point. So of course that's where we wound up. It's funny to think about how close we were to not even looking. Blah blah blah. Long story short, even if you're not going to be serious for a while, start looking as soon as possible. It's a great experience and you'll find yourself so much better prepared at that moment where you are serious. You will also get a much better feel for what each of you wants in a house. As it turned out, my wife and I were much closer to the same page than I ever would have thought.
  18. It has to be. He needs to clear waivers to be sent down otherwise.
  19. I don't think it's a major issue here, but I can't help but think of two words we hear all too often... contract year. I do think what we are seeing is the positive growth of a very young defenseman, but that thought is always going to be in the back of my mind.
  20. It begins and ends with the Bumble. All other characters are pointless.
  21. Oh, you said Superman Returns. I should read better, thought you were talking about Man of Steel. Now your post makes a ton of sense. Sorry about that.
  22. I somehow missed tBJ's post but I couldn't agree more. I've been calling for that for years. The rate of players lobbying for penalties is off the charts. I'd love for it to be an automatic flag. And yes, it doesn't get much worse than Brady. He's in their ear if someone comes within even 3 feet of him.
  23. Rudolph
  24. Becoming? They have been for years.
  25. Didn't try anything new? The whole story of Clark's youth and struggling with his powers was very new, at least to any mainstream imaging of superman. I have no idea if they ever did anything like that in the comics.
