  1. I want a shift in overtime with nothing but those four guys on the ice. It would be one of those "you don't see that every day" moments.
  2. I didn't watch, but I did hear some clips this morning of a back and forth between Cruz and Trump. The whole thing sounded staged to me, like the two guy on top getting together and coming up with some sound bites that will monopolize the air time the following day.
  3. I can't ever remember a year where you could actually have a team rookie of the year award. Buffalo and Phoenix will be neck and neck on that one for the rest of the season.
  4. They had the idiot winners from Tennessee announcing it on the Today Show this morning, before even going to the lottery commission (or whatever they call the people who run this thing). There's one thing I sure as hell wouldn't be doing, going public. I suppose you probably have to in some form, but if I won this thing there's no way I'm putting the giant bullseye on my back like that. Hell, I'd try to avoid telling certain people in my family too. Oh, and I'm definitely not flying half way across the country with that ticket.
  5. So the overrated thread got me thinking back to my college days. Each time the BU hockey team played the last place team, I really wanted the fans to direct an "overrated" chant at that team. It would have been hilarious. But then again, I get fed of with chanting in general, mostly because it's almost always the same robotic stuff over and over. At least mix it up and go with off the wall stuff that doesn't make sense: "overrated" directed at a horrible team, "safety school" directed at Harvard. Unfortunately my sense of humor doesn't line up with the masses.
  6. They should have saved this for a game against the Avs.
  7. Every single team has roster turnover from one season to the next.
  8. They got rid of re-entry waivers, so you can only be claimed before being sent down. I was wondering that same thing though.
  9. I think you meant to say "a fellow 70-something"
  10. I'm pretty sure I've seen stories in the past that the league has some sort of mentorship program in place for these scenarios.
  11. I've only seen CNN coverage of the whole thing, but they've been sensationalizing it too. It's not just a Fox News thing.
  12. Rehab stints are capped at 14 days. The team can't just let him stay there longer. As for his stats, I wouldn't be too concerned over those. That's not the kind of stuff they're going to be working on in those games. It's mostly about getting him in game shape and letting him work on specific things. I'd be curious to see how other goalies have done with theirs, but it seems like they usually wind up with marginal stats. The good thing in all of this is that Johnson has shown that he can be serviceable, so they'll be able to slowly move Lehner along at the NHL level and not just throw him to the wolves
  13. 4 projected first round picks for BU. I wish I had the energy for research, but that number has to be unheard of for a college team. I hope everything stays on track and this actually happens.
  14. It really doesn't matter if they know it though since they're never going to win it.
  15. Is it bad of me to kind of hope that he fell off a building? I know what movie I'm watching this weekend. I didn't get the chance to watch it over Christmas and now I'm kicking myself.
  16. Wild Card, this is your chance to finally watch Die Hard as a tribute to the passing of Alan Rickman. Yippee ki yay, Hans Gruber.
  17. That guy trying to drive some traffic to his design website sure did have an interesting posting history. I'm surprised a couple people fell for it before the thread was locked.
  18. Edmonton bars/dealers are probably the real winners here
  19. Wasn't he one of the hot shot potential hires? If that's the case, I can't believe he got stuck with Cleveland. Poor guy doesn't stand a chance. Then again, I can't see how coaching there can possibly look back on anyone's resume. Either you're the guy who turned Cleveland around or you're the guy who had no chance anyway.
  20. I wonder what the market really is for him right now. If the popular idea that he's Toronto bound really is where his head is, the Leafs have nothing to gain by trading for him now. They're not playoff bound, so there's no sense in giving up anything. Does someone else want to bring him on as a rental knowing that they have no shot of keeping him beyond this year? That seems like a tough pill to swallow too.
  21. You've been reading my posts, haven't you?
  22. And now that Murray has done it twice, there's always the option of him returning in free agency. It's nice being able to seriously consider that as a possibility.
  23. But then taking back money will also limit them if they want to make similar deals in the future. I think they'd much rather float someone like him through waivers first if they really wanted to move him, just to be free of every penny... but like you said, NMC. By the way, what's the go to site nowadays for info on guys with NMCs and NTCs?
  24. I buy a single ticket when the bigger prizes start to show up. I figure that I actually buy tickets if I want to entertain myself with all of the what if scenarios. All other times I don't touch the lottery or any gambling (which is funny given that I'm going to Vegas in a month).
  25. I wonder if they could actually get someone to bite on Moulson. He's got too many years left though to be stuck taking back some of his money.
