  1. Yep, attention whores have to ###### for attention. edit: Interesting, the singular gets filtered but the plural does not.
  2. Cap floor teams do not change a thing. As Taro stated earlier, the players are guaranteed an exact percentage of the total revenue, nothing more and nothing less. So in other words, there is an exact amount of dollars that are given out to the players. If the sum of salaries winds up being less than that numbers, the differences is divided up proportionally among all players. If all teams spend up to the cap, the players would more than likely wind up handing money back to the owners. I don't know the exact numbers on the whole thing, in the CBA, there is a complex calculation that determines the mid-point for salaries. They then add $8 million to that for the cap and subtract $8 million for the floor. I'd imagine it's actually that mid-point that they expect to be the total amount spent per team.
  3. It definitely isn't, but with each pass, they're getting a bigger piece of that pie. They're doing very well for themselves, no matter what anyone thinks. That new team should add a sizeable amount of HRR to the pie, so the players will see a good amount of benefit from it. I wish I knew what the typical revenue was per team because I'd be curious to see how that balances out with the additional team's worth of players now drawing from the player's share.
  4. I'm too lazy to scan through the whole thing, but I imagine they're still sticking to only having guys who are on their ELCs and the drafted guys?
  5. I just hope he doesn't take his mask off to talk to the villain or some random passer by every chance he gets. That drove me mad in the Raimi series. The mask is intended to hide your identity, so you probably shouldn't be taking it off every chance you get. I guess it served a purpose in the 2nd one in the train scene, but otherwise it was ridiculous.
  6. I will forever refuse to refer to any system where billionaires and millionaire collectively pull in the same amount of money as "being bent over". I'm also not going to point a finger at either side should they lock out again since both play a role in slowing down that process. As you say, players shouldn't be blamed for attempting to increase their worth, but the owners shouldn't either.
  7. People manage to both succeed and fail at the same time with the so called correct pronunciation Benoit Pouliot's name.
  8. Yeah, it's cringe worthy seeing anyone complain about that.
  9. Other than the head scratching inclusion of Franson, there's a very obvious trend in age on that list. It's also is half full of former Sabres. That's an odd coincidence.
  10. And soon we'll be the first winter classic home team to play on the road. It's nothing but firsts for us.
  11. I'm going all out liger here:
  12. Has there been anything saying he's actually coming over full time? He could still stay in Sweden.
  13. That whole description has $1.25 million written all over it.
  14. Bonino and Wilson back together? I officially have a western conference team.
  15. There's plenty of other diseases out there that could use all of that new found research money if cancer was ever cured.
  16. It's still not a loophole.
  17. I'd buy it, but I already have the old PlayStation re-issue of FFVI.
  18. Goalies get a longer games played window than skaters
  19. I'll admit it, I laughed.
  20. They traded for vessey knowing that he was going to free agency. That was their own screw up. Lemieux claimed that he would not have signed with us. If he held true to that, we would have lost at his rights after two years, as opposed to 4 with an NCAA guy. Remind me again of how the college guy is somehow worse than that. It's. It a sabres thing. These guys would have done it to anyone. Vessey is the perfect evidence. He did it to two different teams. They are within reach of unrestricted free agency, the ability to sign anywhere they want. Why the hell wouldn't they?
  21. It's a shame that Lemieux wasn't given the chance to follow through on his threat not to sign a few years back. It would have been hilarious to see the whining about needing to change the rules just because one guy spurned our team.
  22. Has there been one since Wheeler? So it hasn't happened in 13 years, so by all means, let's whine and bitch like it's the end of the world. Also, while we complain about drafting college players, lets also turn around and worship the wall of Eichel posters on our wall. We've been burned by a grand total of one college guy we drafted in the last ten or so years. Clearly there's a trend here.
  23. You're occasionally misguided. There's no shame in that.
  24. So who will be the one to take the complaining one step further and demand that we get compensation when he leaves in four years? I'm amazed how much stupid is out there when you go looking. Fortunately only a small amount of it has found its way here. I for one can't wait until the death of this "do t draft college players" crap occurs.
