There's enough background there for the character to use and hopefully they do. I can't see them bringing in someone like Smith if they're not going to focus heavily on his character. As for Harley, she should be far more than eye candy and one liners if done right. She should be as batshit crazy as the Joker is. From what they've shown of him, he looks to be very screwed up (I just can't stand the look), so hopefully we get more of that from Harley. I'm just worried from the little I've seen in these clips that the actress won't be able to pull it off. I haven't seen anything else she's done, so I don't know if she's any good or not.

Everyone loves watching the MLB all star game? Check out the numbers here. You'll see a very clear downward trend in every single column (well, except year, but I would hope there'd be an upward trend there  ). All star games are a novelty that people used to watch because it was their one opportunity to see many players that they wouldn't otherwise see all year. That novelty is gone.

It's a very unscientific scale, but I'd say I hear the Eagles more often on the classic rock stations (on XM) than I do Bowie. I've never taken the time to count though, obviously.

Attention all NC folk: Wegmans is coming to Cary

A bit easier than that current drive to the DC area  -
I just wonder which league will be the first one to get it and stop having an all star game. It's a relic of the past, made pointless by the access we have to everything today.

Even 20 years later, I'll stick to their canned and boxed stuff, thank you very much. It's tough to fake that stuff. -

I heard some of the Trump-Palin stuff yesterday and my god is she hard to listen to. How is she the voice of anything in this country right now? Also, it's funny to hear her rail against the so called establishment when she was a hand picked selection of that very group 8 years ago. But hey, whatever gets ratings.

I'm looking forward to the movie, but that trailer didn't really do anything for me. A few of the characters just don't feel right to me, specifically Joker and Harley. They seem to want to focus more on her and Deadshot than anyone else, so at least I'm looking forward to what Will Smith can do with the role.

The best part about this statement is that the ratings boost you're describing will come from an extra 50 or so people watching the game.

Is Publix anywhere other than Cary? I have no reason to head out there for groceries. I'll do it with Wegman's for the Buffalo foods though. That will be all though. My wife works near there though, so I guess I'll make her the gopher (assuming that NH girl can identify the right products). We've settled on going to Food Lion lately (ie. 2016), and yeah, they're not the best looking stores. The prices are really good though. We haven't had any complaints yet on the quality of the produce, which is about the only thing that is going to differ from store to store. I've heard some stories about a meat scandal in their stores years ago though. Do you know what that was? That kind of stuff we'll just buy somewhere else when needed. -
We had a meeting with a sponsor earlier today. For part of it, we were looking at these graphics called box plots. At one point, one of them asks me "what's in the box". Having watched part of Seven earlier this week, I had to stop myself from blurting out "Gwyneth Paltrow's severed head". I would have loved to see their reaction to that, though.

You can apparently already get Sahlen's hot dogs in Charlotte. They have a distribution center over there. Great news though. edit: CV, at least you won't have to make that drive regularly. -
Which is exactly why it will be over by the weekend. Still, if I can get back a couple bucks I'll do it.

There's apparently a contract dispute here in Raleigh between Direct TV and the company that owns both the local Fox and CBS affiliates. As of last night, those two were pulled from my lineup. Fortunately, I don't think I watch anything on either right now. How long do I have to sit through this though before I can demand some money back from Direct TV?

So if LaFontaine really was trying to exclude Ted Black, isn't that a major problem? Say what you want about what Black's role is supposed to be, but if you're trying to exclude the organization's president from anything, you're just asking for trouble.

I've never understood the "admiring his shot thing", but it's amazing how slow motion can bring up that argument. He's hit probably less than a second after releasing the shot. How is he supposed to look anywhere but the net within that timeframe? Anyway, it's also funny how two different angles can show completely different things. One angle makes it look like shoulder to chest, while the other looks like some contact was made with the head. I don't know if they'll do anything, but it is at least the type of blindside hits that they've been going after for a while now.

I'm sure it happens all the time, but we've seen a very impressive run of deaths in the music world over the last month. Lemmy, Natalie Cole, Bowie, and now this. Expand the window a bit more and you can add Scott Weiland to the list.

Today's out of context comment of the day, overheard as I walked into the office kitchen: "... even my sister slept with my brother"

I just finished it this week. I'm not sure if you e seen very much of Killgrave yet through three episodes. Give it a chance, he is super creepy, a great villain.
-
I think that's crazy talk. If the league was so worried about something like that, they'd rig the voting. That's certainly within their power.

The Atlantic division will now have 4 skaters on the ice. Scott has to stay out there for the entire game.

We've won 2 games in a row and are 29th in the entire NHL. That can't possibly be our standard for things working.

I'm too lazy to verify it, but I did hear some comments in the coverage over the last couple days stating that certain states you are required to be identified. Still, there's different levels of that, whether it's just being listed on some website that no one ever visits or going all out with a press event like you're describing. I have no idea what level is required.

I suppose they had at least some kind of choice on the matter. They've currently got a roster of 22, right? As far as I can remember, they're not carrying an extra forward right now, with Ennis and Deslauriers both listed as on IR. It's not idea, but they could have carried all three goalies if they really wanted to ride Ullmark for a few more games.
