Kind of must win. If you want to turn your season around and be back on course you beat the Laughs twice. A split maybe gives you hope. Two losses leads to a returned cynicism and being blown out well, we're back to nothing but counting how many days Adams has left. 

 

Leafs aren't as good without Marner. Doubt they are any better than Detroit.

Just win this one and send their fans into a feeling of despair. They think that the Cup is within their grasp every year but the Sabres passing them in the standings would inject a dose of reality into their dreams.

This is a big game. With how bad attendance has been, I expect Leaf fans will outnumber Sabres fans. I hope I'm wrong, but it's going to take a lot more winning to get all but the diehards back on board with this team, especially during football season. Winning both games this weekend would go a long way to building some confidence that the team is worth watching again, but got to split at a minimum. 

 

Curious who gets the start tonight. I was originally thinking UPL, but now I'm thinking Lyon tonight and Ellis tomorrow so they can see how the rookie does on the road before adding UPL back in the mix. Of course I wouldn't have brought UPL back from Rochester yet, so likely the Sabres have different plans.

I'm hoping their fans are distracted by the world series and don't bother coming to Buffalo tonight.

Anytime we are in a spot to take advantage of other teams losing we usually come out and lay an egg ourselves. I hope that's not the case again.

The Sabres need to mathematically stay in the playoff race by the team they reach mid-season. They simply can't have extended losing streaks that take essentially take us out of the race. What's been encouraging so far at this early stage of the season is that our goaltending has been pretty good. I'm hoping that it will continue. 

I won't be able to watch this game because it isn't available to me. As a consolation, I won't have to watch a game when Toronto fans take over the building. I just hate that embarrassing spectacle! The best way to contain that scene is to score early and win.

No it's not. I don't know if the Sabres will get into the playoffs. No one does. But at the minimum, for the sake of the fans, it's important to stay in a realistic playoff race for most of the season. Falling by the wayside before the halfway point will ensure even more fans to fade away.

The Sabres might as well be in the same exact spot they were in last year. There’s a simple solution moving forward… don’t lose 13 in a row, or whatever it was. 
 

I just want to see them consistently go through 3 game blocks going 2-1 each time. That will take care of everything.

Just because its early in the season does not mean this isn't a huge game.  Its Toronto, that should be enough, but there is more at stake.  

Points in October count just as much as they do in March.   The Sabres have to stay in contention in the standings. 

Tonight is a 4 point game. It is a home game that might look like a road game.  

It is time for this team to start to jell.  Play every night like that Florida game.  

Lyon should be in goal tonight.

Rolling with the same line up makes sense, its also makes sense that Kesserling would need a bit of time with the team to get going, it sucks but he probably will  miss both these games, fingers crossed him and Greenway are in next week Tuesday against Columbus
