Our "stars" were non-factors. That's a problem.

We seem to have some new stars.  Benson and Lyon.

The Habs know how to beat us.  St Louis is killing Ruff.

I think sometimes we're all waiting for the Great Pumpkin!!! 😉

Hmmm...   Elysian Great Pumpkin as I turn my attention fully to the Mariners? (Not a Mariners fan per se, but it'd be nice for many local folks to be happy. Though if they win, local punks will scare my pups with many fireworks. Punks.)

Ruff is killing Ruff. Geertsen was on the ice way too much tonight.

He's killing our useless assistant coaches....and yes Lindy is not the same as he once was......

Angry at loss

Bad 1st

Solid to Good 2nd

3rd was effectively mini versions of the 1st and 2nd.

Quinn was ugh almost every shift

Power is either good or bad every shift, never level

Proud of the boys for fighting back against some dirty plays on Dahlin

Never play both Geetsen and Dunne again, especially not at the same time.

Montreal had more speed and talent than Buffalo. It's a shame buffalo's continued mediocre drafting keeps this franchise chained down.

Montreal has quick team. Why the Sabres didn’t take more of the body tonight

We are and have been the biggest collection of 98lb weaklings in the NHL for years.!

Well I got tix for Wednesday night, so hoping for a bounce back game. Put that one behind us, it's still early enough to get back in it, but without a few better efforts, we will be out by Christmas.

Good thing we didn’t play Östlund.  We didn’t need any playmaking or speed tonight.  Glad Dunne and Geertsen played 6 minutes each.  They really intimidated the Habs.

If only the Sabres had a GM who could rectify that issue...

<sigh>

Close game. Montreal better in the first. Sabres better in the second. Montreal a little better in the third, especially to start, and thus they get the win. Net front D sunk us again and will continue to sink us I imagine.

Power has an unfortunate name, If a power forward drives the net on him or any forward really makes that go to the net power move it's likely a goal against unless the goalie bails him out. Why this kid doesn't use his size I don't know, With his physical gifts if he had a Chris Pronger type mean streak he could be the best D man in the league. As is, he's a disaster around his own net. If they can't change him, even a little, maybe we should move him down the road a spell. Still too many puck movers and not enough defenders.

Kulich is a good offensive player but a liability in his own end. Way too soft on the puck and that led to the second Montreal goal. Ruff insists on going strength to strength and I question that strategy because of Kulich but I'm not sure there's a better option either.

Metsa was okay. I'd rather he was 7th D than Bryson. I'm not hating Samuelsson so far this year and of course Benson plays the right way and we could use as much of that as we can get.

Not horrible, but not good enough. Have to win those divisional games if you want playoffs. Close doesn't count.

No one wants to hear it but they are playing much better. Lyon is giving them a chance each game. Hopefully Kesselring is back soon and Norris can find some miracle way to get healthy and stay healthy.

They need wins now though. No more moral victories

Your infatuation with non-contributing goons  is outdated in this era of hockey. I would rather add another Doan and Zucker like players who are tough and meaningly contribute.

Some people say this, but how is it "outdated"? Look at how many teams had one or added one this season. It's most definitely not outdated unless you think all those teams are outdated too.

How are the Rangers doing with Rempe?

A 2-4 record is about what I expected from this roster at this point

I didn’t expect 2 wins.

0-3 start and falling to 2-4 is going to make this game feel worse than it was

Pretty bad first period but really good compete from there on out, however it was also met with a really good game by their goalie as well. Felt pretty even after the first though.

The Red Wings game will feel massive because of the slow start, can’t drop another 2 in a row after already starting 0-3. Desperately need Tage to get going. In a vacuum if you focus on the play this season and only the play this season so far, the doom and gloom doesn’t make sense in my opinion. Taking into account the lackluster offseason, the 14 year drought and the refusal to fire Kevyn Adams, I understand it.

However, I’ll choose to be optimistic instead, and I’ve seen 5 good games, the Colorado and New York games included as they played well through the first 2 periods and just fell apart in the third after not seeing results. All in all, I’ve still got hope they can sneak in in a weak year in the East. On to the next.
