Did they stop the game LeBron James style?

Not really. It was a little longer of a break in play as the whole team came out to celebrate, but there wasn’t a ceremony.

Good. Watching the whole team stream out seemed a bit unnecessary, but at least it ended there.

Toronto scored 4 goals on like 18 shots vs Mammoth.  Then an empty netter. Won the 3rd period, won the game.

What?  The mighty Mammoth lost?

Back to back road games are tough.

I watched it, in part to see what the Blues look like and in part to see OV get the 900th.

I thought the the whole team streaming out was necessary and I thought they might do even more.

But hey, score your 900th goal at home after playing 1,504 games for the same team - no big deal.

Every goal he scores is a new record. They might as well clear the bench each time.

I would have been fine with something longer. Love OV or hate him, It is 900 freakin goals after all. That’s historical.

Well, should he hit 1,000, they can clear the bench again.  There's no true significant difference between 899, 900, and 901; but humans in general like round numbers, especially those with more than one 0 at the end.

And nobody else in history has ever scored 900 goals in professional hockey at its highest levels prior to last night.

It was a significant feat; and was treated as such.

1000 I would get, but we just did this 5 goals ago.

Marcus Foligno...having a rough start to the year.

He is still getting between 13-14 minutes ice time per game, so 3rd line minutes. But not only does he have no goals, no assists, no points in 14 games...but he has been on the ice for 11 goals against, while he has not even been on the ice for a single goal for.

Does Minny want a barely used (this year) goalie who's had a really good 2 month stretch a few years back for him?

We take their problem child, they take one of ours.

Is the definition of problem child open to interpretation?  Like their problem child has bad grades at prep school, caught with weed and edibles and was kicked off the wrestling team. While our problem child has a cocaine habit, an illegitimate child at age 16 and dropped out of public school as a sophomore?

Also, love how you say “one of ours”, as in plural.  We have so many f@*king problem children that 1 Seymore Knox III Plaza that it’s the new Father Bakers of Buffalo for the 21st Century. In fact I think parents may start to use the arena as a threat to their young children with bad behavior, like we heard about Father Bakers.  If you don’t listen to me son, I’m going to drop you off at a Sabres game.

Travis Sanheim?

Anyone watch a lot of Flyers games and have an opinion on him?

I've watched parts of 4 philly games this year now...and every time I see him, he's almost 'perfect' back there. Hardly makes a mistake, always makes the correct play.  He doesn't put up the numbers with goals and assists, but is it a stretch to say he might be someone who could at least get SOME consideration for a Norris trophy?

He's also 3rd in the league with over 26 minutes per game.

I know it is still early in the season, but this point leader board ... 🙃

image.thumb.png.10cf8df6741150272aa14cb473299faa.png

back-to-back #1 OA running #1 and #3 in scoring ... and our old pal Jack, hangin' in there at 5

This has me thinking about forwards and our ability to attain them and I think it would be extremely beneficial to trade Norris right now for a draft pick or something, this would be a case where we’d severely be talking addition by subtraction I think. If he’s on the roster at all next year you know he’s going to factor into top 6 C plans especially due to contract and that just can’t happen.

I’d take the hole, outright. If the baby is allowed to keep the scissors here to play with bad things are going to happen. The threat of Norris needs to be alleviated

It is also the last year Norris lacks trade protection. I agree they need to trade him this season.

I don't agree. If he gets injured or when, yea that hurts your team. You know what else hurts your team? Trading him for a 2nd rounder and looking for some other mythical center.

Now if you can trade him for a legit package including a good young forward prospect and a 1st, then maybe.

It's not beneficial at all to just dump him.

Thorny is so freaking good at the subtle art of sarcasm and/or satire ... I just don't know if he is serious. Kinda seems like trading Norris would be like changing a flat tire on a burning car. Sure it helps, I guess ... but not really.
