The Granlund deal is insane. So is KA Millers. And Cecis'

Yep esp millers and ceci’s. Granlund I thought was going to get $6m per so he’s not that out of line. Ehlers will prob get $9m or more, which is a pipe dream for us. Hoping for Suter for us, maybe 2 years 4.5 - 5 per

re-up Byram 2 for 13m, Timmins 2 for 4m, sign Suter 2 for 9m, leaves us with 1m or so cap space, call it an offseason and I think most of us would be happy

Less than 7 hours into FA . He's one of the last guys left. Someone will bite, I hope. I'd rather they get it right than blow it.

Same. So if the offers suck, play him. U can always move him later.

I thought the sabres were looking to make big moves? We got any rumors to get our hopes up?

All quiet on the non-palm tree front

rumor of cgy heavily into Byram but not sure what they could send us back of equal value?! I don’t see the match

I read that they don't agree with Zary about his next contract, it might be they are sending him away instead. But rumours as usual ofcourse.

Zary put up less points than Benson last year while being 4 years older

I am resigned that Byram is staying and our offense is what it is with what we have. Only decent news is that we are defensively slightly better and a bit bigger. I do not believe hard to play against until i see a Sabres team actually do it!! Would love to see a couple of opposing forwards get laid flat as they try and enter our zone without our player getting injured in the process!! (Yes Muel, that is YOU!!)

If you sign Byram to the type of contract he may command (see Miller's deal with Carolina) than you're going to have little cap room for guys like Tuch and Kesserling next year. Personally I think that's investing too much on our defense when we have little on offense outside of Tage and Tuch IMO. Norris might be a top 6 guy but his injury history is scary.

Nope cap is jumping $10m more next year so we’d be okay I believe - 95m-104m

I am not interested in him, it was just something I read somewhere. Think he is another shoot first player.

Two for one if they add a young RHD to the trade. Adams would take that and run.

With the way salaries are being handed out $10 million might pay 1 high end free agent (see Tuch).

I think this is nonsense. The cap is going up to 7 million ish next year and you already account for 4.75 for Tuch's current deal so you only need to find 4million for his next one... okay that leaves you 3million of that 7mill increase and there's Kesselring's money. Sabres only have 60 million tied up in contracts already for next year. And on top of alllllll of that, if you signed Byram to 7.5mil x 7yrs you could literally trade him if needed next summer.

Only a chicken ***** like Adams is worried about paying players next year when he can't even ice a competitive team this year.

The Ducks organization is interesting, with massive cap space ($29M) even after this signing. Only McTavish remaining as an RFA.  Young forwards like Terry, Gauthier, and Carlsson are all high draft picks and ready to take the next step. Then add a new head coach, and trades to shake up the core.  Live look at Verbeek talking to Adams.

Zary is like getting a second Krebs at this point. That doesn’t really do anything for me.

Kevyn Adams "we like where our roster is at today"

Well sure, he hasn't had to pay Byram, Timmons, nor Levi yet.  That's $14MM glistening in Pegula's eye.  They'll like it a lot less when they're within $5MM of the cap (maybe even $3MM).

Tuch will be the gauge of that statement.  I don't expect him to re-sign given what's been done so far.
