We’ve deceased in skill

Yes.  But the big guys they've brought in (at least Kesselring) are supposed to be "fast and skilled for a big guy" and Timmons is more skilled than Clifton.  They aren't going for JUST size in theory but are trying to find that sweet spot of all 3 (even though unless you're getting an Eichel, and those are hard to get, it's really hard to get true size, speed, and skill).

I gotta wonder what Alex Tuch is thinking so far.  I can’t believe he is impressed enough to want to consider any long term extension, but rather hoping GMKA sending him elsewhere before next season.

Honestly, if I was Dahlin and I see what we've done so far, I'm going into the GM's office and saying if we don't make the playoffs you're trading me

KA’s response…too late!  If you wanted to make an ultimatum, you should have come in here last week!!

We have certainly honed in on doubling-down on all the unique practices that have led to our historic league relative results these past several years, so in that sense we have improved: we are more thoroughly ingrained in our established identity than ever

I agree after seeing this inspired effort to improve the team by our village idiot I cannot imagine there is not going to be some level of player discontent and looking for trades just to get out.

I still think there could be another move coming

would defy logic for there to not be given how things look on multiple fronts

Wouldn’t shock me at all if KA started a plan rolling and then couldn’t close the deal on the big prize.

Feel like we’ve seen that before, yes

I remember as a small child in Kindergarten being tasked with “drawing my street” and, being a child, struggling with scale, so that starting it out it was way too big on the left and then had to shrink it to fit by the time the right edge of the page got close, and then eventually just running out of room altogether

that’s Kevyn Adams but he’s a 50 year old man being paid millions of dollars

This is the barometer.  We should all get a good sense of where things stand.  If Tuch chooses to re-sign here and it's not a significant over payment then perhaps there's something about the team we are missing.  However, if he bolts then it's Armageddon because I'm not sure how they spin "local boy spurns homeclub hockey team for 'anyone else'"

Here is where the roster stands

Forwards
Thomspon Kulich Tuch

Benson Norris Quinn

Zucker McLeod (RFA) Greenway

Malenstyn Krebs Doan (Kozak-RFA, Danforth)

Defense

Dahlin Byram (RFA)

Power Kesselring

Samuelsson Timmins (RFA)

Johnson Bryson

Goalies

UPL, Lyon, Levi (RFA)

Lyon is an upgrade on Reimer, but what do we need a 5'8 4th line player for in Danforth?

Oh I'm sorry, Ithought you knew he was an RFA.  All the players get paid for playing.  The team has control of the player.

Did you think we were trying to trade an UFA?  That's probably where I lost ya.  Teams can't trade UFA's.

No I know he's an RFA. Future not determined unless something happened while I'm typing this and haven't looked at the new topics yet.............

If Byram, Timmins, and McLeod get more or less what is projected, the roster will be full and they will be about $4 million under the cap.

I don't think we are trading for a forward unless we are trading one out.  And, I doubt Adams extended players like Greenway and Quinn with the intent of trading them.  He also didn't give Greenway and Quinn $4 million and $3.375 million, to play on line 4.  They might end up there, but I doubt that is the intent.

I was hoping we would make a run at one of the top forwards knowing we probably would not. Looks like another 80 point season coming up. That roster has little chance of being a playoff team. Lots has to go right.

As time goes on, knowing how much Greenway gets hurt, only 34 gp last year...i'm liking his extension less and less.

Can Muel still be bought out this offseason, or has that deadline passed?

The deadline for an ordinary course buy-out has passed (that window ended yesterday).  But if the Sabres have at least 1 arbitration award, the window reopens brifefly after the last arbitration proceding completes.

So, most likely, if the Sabres are planning on getting rid of him they'll have to trade him.

Yet Kevyn Adams may still keep his job regardless….failure is secondary to loyalty with our lame owner.
