Yes.  He will still be an RFA for 2 additional years per Puckpedia.  Not sure if that takes into account any changes in the brand new CBA or not.  Most likely in a worst case the Sabres would still have right of 1st refusal for 1 more season.

Quinn was the Sabres' first round pick in 2021, 8th overall.  The position he plays is different, but are we to expect a comparable level of play from Mrtka in 4 years?

I've been listening to "Hambone" for years and marvel how he is still employed as a Sabres beat reporter.  Just goes to show the value of familiarity and inertia.

big d-men generally need more time to develop. i read about mrtka needing to work on his skating. i’d assume he’ll need to marinate for 5-6 years before having a legit shot at the nhl.
