The worst thing in the press conference hasn't even been discussed yet.

Pegula has his daughter sitting in on scouting meetings?!?!?! In what world would this be a thing for any other franchise in professional sports?!?!

Well she is the ownership liaison. It only matters if she’s having input and sway on the decision making. If she’s just sitting there repping the owner than that is likely pretty normal.

Carlie Irsay - and her play-card and headset - has entered the chat.

My favorite part was when he said they have a plan in place and are executing it. Kind of comical he’s done not a single thing addressing the roster all off-season and got in front of a mic and said he’s executing on his plan

I don't think the "plan" is anything complicated or hard to figure out. They don't take responsibility for the situation they created or try to change it they just take it as a given that players don't want to come there. Thus they stripped it down and started over trying to get players who "wanted to be there" (and there aren't many) so the plan is save the money until it's "needed later" and draft their own players that they have some control over and let the team "grow together" until they have drafted enough talent to win. They think it's that simple and that's the plan. Total faith in the draft and their kids. That's it. That's all.

They expected it to happen last year with the addition of Ruff to pull it all together and lead them but that failed so Kev convinced Terry they were close and he just needs another year. They're just slightly behind their schedule and if Dahlin hadn't been injured and/or they didn't have to go to  Europe and if Cozens had just been better they'd have been there. I'm sure that was his take (plus a few other excuses no doubt). So, they stay the course, and that is all the "plan" is.

What a load of 💩

I really do believe that Addams thinks he is out thinking the press. The is an absolute hollow vessel. He gets all riled up when someone touches a nerve and his okilly dokilly mask slips just a little more. Clown.

For me, it doesn't matter what KA does positively this offseason. My view on him won't change. His record is his record. I have more animus for the owner who oddly hired him, and intensified my scorn for the owner for retaining him after half a decade of piddling performance. Even if KA has a stellar offseason, it won't be forgotten that he was the person who contributed to driving this damaged vehicle into the the ditch. My judgment is based on the body of work and not a segment of one's work.

And Darcy Regier is watching and thinking ‘I’m glad someone else is the scapegoat now and they’ve forgotten about me”

I can’t decide if letting Terry or Adams speak is more embarrassing for the franchise at this point? If they ever hold a joint press conference it might be too much for anyone to handle. Probably be hard to make out anything Adams would say though with his lips attached to Terry’s backside the entire time.

Hmmmm so another year with minor band-aids coming up

They are going to say how much they "value" each of their players until they move them.

I expect a major move or two, possibly someone who is under the radar at the moment.

So Mule is not getting bought out. Well, then he needs to be traded because he was given a nice contract and a letter and he doesn’t stand up for a fallen teammate.

Coaching staff is under contract, whoopty f***ing doo, everyone that gets fired in the league is under contract dipstick. Do better.

My fandom is on the ropes and then this loser comes out and says nothing. I know they are tight lipped about moves and that is OK even admirable, just don’t have press conferences until you do something then. Key words, do something. Hard to comprehend from Mr. Run It Back.

I disagree that Samuelsson should be bought out. Where I do agree with you is that the letter should be taken away from him. He never should have been given a letter, just as Eichel should not have been given a letter when he was so young. Samuelsson needs to concentrate on his game and durability. Much of the hostility directed toward him is due to his style of play. Although he is a big fellow, he is not a banger. That's not his game and never will be. But that doesn't mean that he can't be a solid and versatile player for us.

Another joke of a press conference from our joke of a GM. How can anyone really be so incompetent and out of touch?

Practice. Lots and lots of practice.

Adams saying he feels bad for the fans because of reporting is rich. Lolz.

The Peterka conversation is cringeworthy. The hemming and hawing and executing the plan talk is gross. If you don't want to talk about player situations pre draft then just say that. It's one sentence.

One thing I will say is that if the are looking to trade JJP and/or Sammy, saying they want our or there is a buyout option is a good way to tank value.

But Adams is basically bad at everything and this conversation didn't protect any trade value.

I hope it does, however history is not our side.

“The way Eric Staal articulates... It's a really big addition to our staff"

This ranks up there for me with “Let me tell you guys what Terry said in that meeting, it was very impressive”

Just comments from a guy completely in over his head.

He knows where his bread is buttered though. Every statement he makes is for an audience of one. He says what he thinks Terry would want to hear.

I'm also super surprised at how not plugged into prospects Adams is. He doesn't start getting to know prospects until January? Then doesn't pour into film until May?

And sometimes he doesn't know about all the work the scouting team put into a certain player until they're on the clock?

That sounds crazy.

He comes across like a bumbling idiot.

The one I like the best - “… But our focus remains the same: how do we help our team get better?”

Simple fire your arse.

January makes some sense but the rest doesn't. That said, I think Forton basically drives the draft bus and Adams just regurgitates what he's told about players.

Also Adams has access to prospects video in shift by shift mode with AI tracked fancy stats. He's got a lot easier job keeping up with them if he wanted but... he's not good at his job.

Bellicheat came off as smart because he won the division about 15 times out of 18 and added a handful of SB trophies when he was hooked up w/ Brady.

He ALWAYS came across as a jackhole in his interviews.

Bellichick spoke in grunts and minimal words.

Adams is a word salad. He falls all over himself.

Unfortunately Forton is a much better public speaker than Adams. He also carries himself better. Again, all of this is unfortunate because I wouldn't be shocked if he becomes the GM post Adams.

I would prefer he presents as terrible as possible so that it would be clear he's a bad hire. But unfortunately he sounds at least a bit professional.

Different sport entirely but when you hear Beane talk about prospects just down the road it's a "We scout 365 days per year", "we are looking at guys coming out of HS", "we are always reviewing film"

But Adams goes "I don't get to know these guys until January and I don't start to take a deep dive until May."

And then we talk about Jarmo who could probably rattle of stats from last week's u12 Tonawanda Lightening game.

THis is the part that got me. JHC, feel sorry for the fans because this team has sucked Donkey D*&$ for more than a decade. My God, he is the absolute worst.

Also his talk about the coaching staff was hilarious to me.

At the front end he said that Lindy has a very firm idea of who or what he expects out of his coaching staff. He goes on to say that Lindy has had a lot of conversations with people ...

Then goes on about how if Lindy or himself thought they could upgrade the staff they'd look into it.

To me, it sounds like Lindy has a clear vision for the staff and has reached out to others to upgrade it.
