  1. 1. What, If Anything, Gives You Hope For Next Season?

    • The core players are another year older and starting to really molded themselves into an effective fighting force
      2
    • Adding Norris, if he stays healthy, has added firepower, changed the culture and made the top six whole
      4
    • Say what you want, but this team scores goals, the team defence will come along
      1
    • I like the defence, Mule is maturing, Bernard Docker was a nice addition, and Dahlin, of course
      0
    • With Levi coming up it will help and push UPL to stay on the top of his game. We will have two goalies that can get hot at anytime
      0
    • I'm really hopefully that with all the assets they have there will be trades and or free agent acquisitions that will improve the team
      16
    • Lindy has had a year to mold this group and they will come out ready for the season
      1
    • Kevin Adams Sterling leadership and shrewd dealing will enhance the hockey ability of this team
      0
    • We have the best owner in professional sports!
      1
    • Rasmus Dahlin and Tage Thompson

Dahlin, Tage, Tuch. That's...about it.

I'm all outta hope. This is a poorly constructed roster and (mostly) the same group isn't going to suddenly become a good hockey team at this point. They are what they are. The only path I see to improvement is that Jarmo has more say in the roster construction and HE is at the head of some moves this summer. There is talent here, has been for a couple of years; we need to move out some of the redundant pieces and get some good veteran players in here that better complement our current core. Maybe JJP is the first piece to start that process, but it sucks losing a young wing who appears to be on track to becoming a near ppg player.

I’ve lost hope indefinitely.  I just don’t see anything getting done that needs to get done. They need to flip half the roster. Zero chance of that happening so…

You are right that there is zero chance that half the roster will be flipped. And that would be the right approach to take. There needs to be a few consequential moves to change the roster dynamic. I have little confidence in KA but as @Thornypoints out the $$$ should be put on Jarmo.

Nothing.

They are heading for another rebuild after they ***** the bed next season. This season they will lose Peterka and Tuch. After next season it will be Tage and Dahlin.

My hope is that the Pegulas, Adams, Ruff, and the players still possess the capacity to be embarrassed by their individual and collective performance over the past five years, especially when compared to what they watched in this year’s SC playoffs, and that they prepare in this offseason to come to camp with a different roster and commitment to change the culture. Playing for each other matters. Winning matters.

Apologize for the run on sentence.

I’ve surrendered to the negative. If KA and his adviser don’t right this rudderless rust bucket of a team everyone that is able and has an ounce of pride will jump ship.

If we lose Byrum, Peterka, and Tuch, I think it's really time for me to stop following this team for a bit. I have zero faith that Adams will get solid returns for any of those 3. Every trade year, the Eichel returns will be shipped out and diluted even more. It will eventually be like we never even drafted Eichel to begin with.

Who knows how much of Paul Hamilton's opinion will actually take place, but it aligns with everything I have been thinking over the last few years. I think this team is going to drop even further than last year, with a max exodus to follow. It's impossible for me to have an ounce of hope about the coming season.

I think we could lose JJP, Tuch and Thompson in the next 365. (Not predicting. But I'm saying it's possible.)

If that happens I think we should go the other way. Start leaving roadkill on Ter-Bear and Kev Kev's front door.

Don't quit, declare war.

I'm not to far away from you.

Since I was a little kid (under 10) I have followed this team.  Through the drought, I wasn't happy but I followed the team. the Kruger losing streak?  Never walked away from the team.  I posted about pretty much every game on this forum over the last few years.

BUT, last year I wavered a BIT after the 1st of the year.  For the first time ever, in almost 40 years since I was in elementary school I wavered a bit in my fandom.  Now, for no reason that I know of, this offseason I have wavered a bit more.  I think in the past 2 months I have maybe posted on this forum 20 times?  I would do that in a few days in the last few offseasons.

I think a guy like Alex Tuch, a Sabres and Bills fan his whole life...WANTING to come here to play here.......even the rumors of him wavering hit me hard.

They need to start next season strong.  If they aren't in a playoff spot after the first month, its a problem. If they aren't in (or competing) for a spot the entire season (meaning to NOT ever fall more than 3-4 points out of the 8th spot), its a big problem.)

If this team fails to make the playoffs next year, and/or is a negative goal differential team again, I personally might get to the point of canceling the cable package and agreeing with you.

Many fans have walked away from the team in the past decade. Others (many/most of us on this forum) haven't, and some never will.  Its getting to the point where everything is just negative, I'm a happier person when NOT thinking about the franchise.

You should expect a mountainous bowel movement very shortly. Be respectful and give the air refresher an extra spray.
