GoPuckYourself Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago Thompson gets destroyed and not 1 single Sabres player came to his aid, Anyone who even comes close to Barkov almost dies on the ice by everyone. That must be such a nice feeling, maybe 1 day we'll experience that. I felt from the very begining of the playoffs that if the Stars beat the Avalanche they'd win the Stanley Cup and I feel even better about that plus Oettinger looks much better than the Colorado series. 2 Quote

So true, every year when playoff hockey starts we are reminded of how exciting it is... intense physical and sometimes down right mean and nasty... then I listen to everyone wanting this team to make the playoffs... and think they would get swallowed up like guppies in playoff hockey... and the only ones not eaten would be the ones hiding under the bench... so much more is needed to be a competitive team in the post season... we are so devoid of that... its past how horrible Adams has gotten production and development from this group its also roster construction... Owen Power, Quinn, Peterka, Byram and Bryson would all look like Denis from Slapshot with PTSD in the locker room and anyone who actually resisted would end up looking like Dave "killer" Carlson... so much different required in this roster construction... with so many incompetents trying to do it... sorry, but I see this current roster as constructed maxing out at a 5 game first round playoff exit... IF the dream scenario played out next year... however realistically, not likely to even make them... but if we did we are likely gonna turn away from the beat down that will ensue... Quote

Yes, Bennett did that. But he was allowed to by the dimwitted Leafs player that chose to leave him alone. At the very least Bennett would have been forced to the short side instead of being free to cross the crease. Epic blunder by the Leafs on that goal. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago At the end of that game, they showed Tkachuck pointing at the Leafs bench and I think nylander with his stick, then he makes an elbow gesture at him. Said I'm coming for you next game 😂😂 would be awesome to see him trash the Leafs leading scorer for the nonsense on Barkov. Give me that in my veins all day. Love playoff intensity and would love to see the Leafs wilt again too. 1 Quote

This is a series that players are starting to keep track of hits. The Panthers have a rugged team but the Leaves under Berube seem willing to answer the bell. I hope it goes 7 games 2 Quote

I think the Leafs are better at it this year, but the past two games are the result of Florida beating them down over the course of the series. Last year, the physical side was the Panther's strength: they upped the physical game and wore down opponents while being able to maintain their skill. This is what they're trying to go to Toronto and it seems to be working if Domi is any reflection of how the rest of the team is taking it. Edited 8 hours ago by ... clarifying the point 1 Quote

A thing to think about too is the MANY, MANY,(play off intensity) post season games the sabres and their "core" have missed out on over the years. (Compare to upper level teams like the bruins with their core).the number well over 100. These type of games are absolutely invaluable in developing the grit and mindset needed to make the jumps from bottom feeders, to playoff team to real contenders. 14 years of not even a taste is devastating. 1 1 Quote
OverPowerYou Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I was actually hoping to see the leafs make it to the conference finals and lose. A different style of losing this time 1 Quote

I think it is very true... that the playoff experience is helpful... hopefully some decade whomever is on our team may get some... and for those players it can develop who will take that experience away it will most certainly help... But I do think if the team isnt constructed the right way that experience would lead to not much... I go to the Sabres teams from the mid 80s early 90s that were perenial 1st round exits.. no amount of experience could make those players playoff hockey players.. more often then not the series were not even close... some were... but most they were dominated especially in the clutch... but again to your point... that experience for those that can be playoff players is clutch... Marchand the Leaf killer is so in their heads at the moment. They got rats on every line. This could still go either way, but you can see the Florida being Florida is slowly getting to the Leafs and they are going to have trouble staying focused and disciplined. 1 Quote

A different style of losing this time No thank you. Then the Loafs are where the Canes were in '06 - a serious injury run for the opponent away from the Finals to which they then may be a goalie injury away from their first trophy since '67. Screw THAT. Let them lose the next 2 so they have no inkling of a possibility of ending one of the few (or the only at this point, unless you give credit the SJ for all their misses dating back to '67 for their long journey back to the Bay area; and personally don't give Dallas credit for a win, but they were AWARDED one, and most people count that (mistakenly) as having won one) SC droughts longer than the Sabres and Nucks droughts. 1 1 Quote

I'm torn on the west because although I don't want Eichel, and I would like to see Canada break the cup drought just so that people stop talking about it (but not the Leafs), I really don't want Jeff Skinner to get his name on a cup sitting in the stands as he is. So Winnipeg? Sure. But I don't think they will get past Dallas. As such, might as well be the rats. Quote
