Flashsabre
Sweden up 5-2 in the 3rd. Östlund with a goal and assist (maybe 2) in the 3rd period to help break it open. Lekkermaki-Östlund-Wahlberg line dominating every shift they are on. Edited January 4 by Flashsabre
Flashsabre
If Östlund puts on weight/muscle and continues to develop the absolute best case scenario would be Aho. Just an all around centre that can excel in all aspects of the game.

K-9
The sequence that started the Östlund breakaway goal was funny as he fell while pursuing the puck along the half wall in his offensive end, slid into the boards, and watched as the Czechs took off in the other direction. In getting back into the play, Östlund only got as far as center ice before the Swedes regained control in their own end and #9 hit him with that beautiful stretch pass to send him in on the breakaway. That play doesn’t happen if Östlund hadn’t tripped and was delayed getting back into the play.
SabresBillsFan
The Sabres have some really great young and upcoming players. Now all we need is a better coach to draw it out of these players!

Yeah it’s difficult reading everyone creaming in their jeans about these kids given the state of the NHL team. Also, we’ve been down this road more than I care to remember with players prospects at world juniors. Almost all our kids dominate, after the tourney, not so mush. 1 hour ago, SabresBillsFan said: The Sabres have some really great young and upcoming players. It’s not the coach Because every team has a guy they can point to who does well in a kids tournament. Literally every team - this isn’t a substantial avenue for the improvement we need, the ground we need to make up. None of it matters a lick if the GM doesn’t want to/ isn’t capable of building an actual team we are conditioned to feel these performances don’t matter because..they definitively don’t: not as a means for improvement, not with the means of operation we’ve seen. Proof has been in the pudding for a decade. Build a team.
DarthEbriate
Trailing Finland 2-0, Kulich buries a cross-ice pass from the right circle on the powerplay. But, he takes a knee-on-knee on his next shift and headed back to the bench. Didn't leave the ice early that I saw. End of 1 in the early semifinal. Night Train
CZE ties the game 2-2, only to see Finland score 3 quick goals (bad D) to make it 5-2.

What I really like is that he put the team on his shoulders. He wore the C well. His team medaled and make an amazing rally.
