(OT) The College Football Thread

I am hanging out in Pittsburgh this weekend and I just came from the casino and Bastille concert just a bit ago, and even though it's a road game for Pitt, the atmosphere for the panthers is still in the air here all over. Grabbing grub at burgatory and going to join the young'n crew for brew time!

Bush league ..... after OU left the field ... (not that taunting is better when the taunted is present, by the way; waiting until the loser's showering just saps the moment of bravado or courage). Perhaps he was taunting the 74 year old alum, a retired CPA, still in the stands with his middle school grandson.

Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of college football, excitement, tradition, etc. But if you hang out on the sideline until the opponent hits the lockers, and then deliberately disrespect its "home", well .... I mean, who was he taunting? And, he was taunting, before someone suggests "celebration."

Hey, Baker .... why not wait until three in the morning? You'd not have risked the OU band kickin' your a** ....

Every once in a while you see a player who just has "it." And, Baker Mayfield has "it." He is Drew Brees 2.0. That's a kid who will be a very good NFL quarterback for a lot of years if he stays healthy and stays out of trouble. He led college football in passer rating last year and will do it again this year.

BTW- I've always been way more into college football than pro football. In part because I've spent my career on DI college campuses.

It was returning the favor. Ohio State delivered their class song last year after beating Oklahoma on the road. Ohio State deserved it.

Thank you, thank you.   I know more, but feel the same way.  Two wrongs, and all that ....  I know, I know, I'm a dinosaur.   I shook the hands of my opponents.   Progress, right!?  What's for dinner, Harriet?

Don't worry, we'll all be dead, soon.  Thirty years, tops.

That 74 year old CPA was a dick! Always talking jargon and making his clients feel inadequate. And his grandson pops his collar. They deserved it! They sooooo had it coming!

As far as storming the field goes after a win, act like you've won b4.

I tend to agree. Unless it's an enormous upset. Like Appalachian State over Michigan. That was freaking huge. Or Boise State over Oklahoma in the fiesta bowl, also huge.

Oddly enough, same year.

This just doesn't look like an NFL qb to me

Disagree. It's fun, creates rivalries, and, well, why not? I see no downside to it
