BS. You should always be ready. He put it in his skates with no one on him ..

I wasn't talking about that play specifically, but it was a symptom of a bigger problem. I've been noticing Jack's passes being unexpected for several games now. At first I chalked it up to lack of chemistry, but now I think Jack's not blameless.

If that guy wasn't expecting a pass, what's the point of skating right behind him? Is it careless to give the puck to an open guy?

The trailing player was far too close to Jack. A drop pass isn't the right play there. You saw why. Jack needed to finish the rush at that point and put a shot on net.

If Jack is going to be a team player then he needs to make plays that make sense. This is not a new thing. He's made at least two plays in this game already where he's just imagining his teammates know what he's thinking. They aren't there yet. He needs to be aware of that and make simpler plays if he's not going to try to get the job done himself.

Then he suffers from the same syndrome that the rest of the team does.  The problem is no one is ready ro take advantage of the moment whether from a bounce or a pass.  I dont fault him for putting the puck where the scoring % is higher

Can't disagree more.

Usually am but not in this case

Sorry but you are. Eichel is too smart for his teammates and he is too modest about it. He sees the game faster but doesn't want to acknowledge it. So he makes plays assuming that if he can visualize it then so can they. But it's not true. He's better than them. He needs to start acting like it. It's his responsibility. He's the one who is "special".

That's just horse . That says, 'you're better than them, so play as bad as they do'

Recognize you're better than them, but don't play like it, because it's your responsibility to play on their level

The others are cashing NHL paychecks too.  Hitting an open man in the face off circle isnt over thinking anything.  It hit the player in the skates.  If his linemates can't handle that get different linemates.  He shouldn't lower his game to theirs they should elevate theirs.
