Current Carrion Hockey League Standings

Anyone feel like doing some legwork? I'm actually curious if Arizona may end up with the worst final 30 or so game stretch to finish off the season of all time.

1989–90 Quebec Nordiques

Won only one out of its last 17 games.

1980-81 Winnipeg Jets

Earning the nickname "Lose-ipeg," the Jets set a modern sports record by going 30 games without a win.

1975-1976 Kansas City Scouts

From December 30 to February 4, the Scouts failed to win a single game, coming up short 16 straight times. After ending that streak with a victory over the Capitals, the Scouts went winless in their last 27 games, finishing 1-35-8 in their last 44 games.

1992–93 San Jose Sharks

The Sharks set the NHL record by losing 71 games that year, including 17 in a row at one point, and they allowed the most goals of any team in the league. Arturs Irbe was the San Jose's "leading goaltender," posting a record of 7-26 and a GAA of 4.11.

1974–75 Washington Capitals

The 1974-75 Capitals are the worst team to ever skate on the ice.

Their .131 winning percentage is the worst in league history and they finished with half the points as their fellow expansion brothers, the Kansas City Scouts. The Caps managed to lose 39 out of their 40 road games and lost 17 in a row at one point. Goaltender Michel Belhumeur went 0-24 and along with fellow netminder Ron Low, they allowed a combined 446 goals (also an NHL record).

The team was so bad that they lost four games by 10 or more goals, and coach Jim Anderson had to resign after being diagnosed with stomach ulcers caused by stress.

Arizona has this.

Darcy can suck the energy and life right out of an organization like few others can

AZ has this because they are committed to it. Has nothing to do with Darcy being a downer or not.

Murray is being derelict in his duties by allowing this to go on. It is just not in the best interest of the club to not ensure one of the top two picks to land the linchpin of your franchise for the next 15 years. AZ, from ownership on down, recognizes this simple fact and they are in it to win it.

Ironically, in an effort not to "shame" the organization by willfully setting up to lose, the Sabres are shaming themselves anyway in letting another team beat them to the prize.

GO SABRES!!!

You are going to be disappointed I feel. You don't trade a 3rd overall pick for a quick fix unless you package roster talent to land a difference maker. You may add one piece and create another hole or more in the process. That is the allure of the generational talent. It is an nhl ready, though inexperienced addition, that doesn't need baking and doesn't require you to trade anything.

How much ya got? Cash only or bitcoins.

the bet is with pi200, I will bet 20$ to the charity of his choice the Sabres are not a bottom 2 team if they don't draft McEichel.

Isn't this more reason to play Hackett? Given Lindback's size and how he's playing out at the top of the crease, wouldn't Hackett be more likely to miss the first shot, so his teammates couldn't then bail him out?

Hard to say. If you figure luck will even out eventually, it might be the better play to go w/ the guy that's been unordinately lucky rather than the guy that's got a clean slate. If you look at it as, past coin flips won't effect future coin flips, then yes, go w/ Hackett.

Rack up another 2 points for the good guys! Can we already count tomorrow's game as a win? No way in hell BUF is even in that game. Hackett should get the nod but wouldn't be surprised to see him get pulled at some point.

No game is safe at this point. We must be relentless in our pursuit. There's no room for complacency in the CHL this season.

Sounded like a lot of Devils fans in the house tonight. Didn't think there were that many fans in NJ, let alone western NY.

Would be totally down if it is a strategy from tanker season ticket holders.

TANKERS: Do you draw the line at going to home games and cheering for the other team?

Looks like Vogl picked it up too. Reflection of a smart fanbase.

Many Sabres fans want Buffalo to lose, but they haven’t voiced their opinion inside the arena. That changed Friday. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/sabres-nhl/sabres-home-loss-to-devils-is-a-crowd-pleaser-20150320

When you get fed $#!t for 6 months eventually you are going to start throwing it up.

This is far beyond throwing up in disgust though. I'd say that would be the boos of the first half of season. This is strategically demanding to continue being fed this $#!t diet, because you know you're body will look better for it. Interesting insight into the psyche of the fan.
