This must have been quite special for the guys playing the game. I found it to be a weird phenomenon about 20 years ago. I know when I go to Montreal every summer to visit friends all they drink is Bud Light. Real weird. The only people I saw drinking Bud when I was over there were two guys in 'Surrey Knights' motorcycle jackets (and they got into a van when they left the pub, not onto bikes). This doesn't suprise me. English beer is meh. I agree with you based on most of what we get here. The stuff over there is better, as long as you like ales. I was talking with someone over there about how beer companies export the stuff they wouldn't sell at home. The only American beers I saw over there were Bud and Rolling Rock (of all things).
