  1. I think that combined with Anderson saying that if it were his decision that he'd start Miller, sort of points us in the right direction.
  2. You didn't notice the "Scissors" tag on the thread. Always classy.
  3. She's from North Dakota. Whadayagonnado.
  4. So his argument is that Gallagher was embellishing on the initial contact with Bogosian and tried even harder with Montoya, then should have drawn the interference call on the hit from Trouba. I'll never defend Frasier, but concisely, what's the completely absurd part? In my experience, if you play in the dirty areas, it gets dirty. And that intensity only ramps up at the crucial end of a close game. To stand in the crease with your arms up looking for a call when your team's trying to get back on sides with less than a minute left in a one goal game looks pretty ###### silly.
  5. TM's been talking a good player evaluation and drafting game, and saying the right things when it comes to maximizing return for UFAs. This keeps me optimistic, because these are important concepts for our historical franchise turnaround. As for big moves, it's been quiet, mostly because there hasn't been a definitive, time-critical need to make moves before the deadline when assets are projected to garner more return. Therefore: One month performance review for Tim Murray: Cautious Optimism
  6. Same story with Pysyk.
  7. I respect Biathlon. When it comes time for the marksmanship, you have to not only control your arm muscle fatigue, but your breathing and heart rate. And the more you ###### up and miss, the more cardio busting ass you have to do, making the shooting harder, and your time longer.

  9. I also agree. I think Nolan has the team working harder than they've been working before. But with this roster, that's the difference between a 5-3 loss because of no effort and a 2-1 loss because of no talent.
  10. It wasn't for a lack of effort, trust me. I just don't get blackout drunk that often. I have a graduate degree from Playboy's #1 party school, which has bestowed upon me a super-human tolerance. Especially for beer. So I really can't drink enough beer by 2AM to cause memory loss. It's a blessing and a curse. Sometimes, if I don't eat dinner and I start drinking at like 4pm, I'll be shitfaced by bar time. We used to do that in Madison. Pound beers from about 4 until 7pm at happy hour, then go to the Badger hockey game until 9:30, then pub crawl down State St, ending up at the Essen Haus around 11pm, then pound 2 liter glass boots of Spaten Optimator and dance to live polka music for three hours. That would usually do it, but I'd still remember where I was.
  11. Bar times I've determined by being kicked out of bars at bar time: Buffalo: 4AM Albuquerque, NM: 2AM San Diego, CA: 2AM Los Angeles, CA: 2AM Berkeley, CA: 2AM Madison, WI: 2AM Milwaukee, WI 2AM Minneapolis, MN: 2AM Chicago, IL: 2AM Orlando, FL: 2AM Cocoa Beach, FL: 2AM Grand Junction, CO: 2AM Las Vegas, NV: N/A Savannah, GA: 2AM Boston, MA: 2AM Providence, RI: 2AM Princeton, NJ: 2AM Philadelphia, PA: 2AM Pittsburgh, PA: 2AM Cleveland, OH: 2:30AM
  12. BREAKING: The trade deadline is March 5th at 3pm EST. League resumes operation on February 26th, 19 days from now and one week before the trade deadline.
  13. Maybe Andrew Peters needed it more, so he left it in his locker.
  14. Players that need to be traded to keep the tank going: Tyler Ennis, 14 points in the last 16 games. Drew Stafford, 9 points in the last 7 games. HOWEVER, of those last seven games, we've lost each one where he records a point. If intentional, that's some high-level ninja tanking. Christian Ehrhoff, 20 points in last 30 games. He had only scored 5 points before Thanksgiving. He was also -9 before Thanksgiving. He's been -1 since. Cody Hodgson, on the other hand, doesn't want to be traded. After going 12 points in 13 games, he's only recorded 1 point in his last 5. TANKADILLO
  15. Ahaha. Keeping the pick. Suck it, Edmonton. We just got a free AHL player. edit: Or ######. Maybe not.
  16. So we stack Rochester with as many players as we can without waiving them (or in Omark's case: meh). I get it. Move the show to War Memorial Square.
  17. Even skating coaches tell adult skaters that all of the time. There's so much advantage to a deep knee bend, from stability to stride length and power, it's so crucial.
  18. Definitely yes. The fuel for the tank isn't the coaching- the coach wants to win. It isn't the players' attitudes- the players are trying hard and want to win. The fuel for the tank is the quality of the roster itself. We get rid of much of your top-level talent in Vanek and Pominville (and maybe Roy at one time), and the only skilled guy we bring back is Moulson. We've taken a lot of our on-ice assets and converted them to draft assets and prospect assets. As for Rolston vs Nolan, Carp's charts show a definite leveling out after Ted Nolan gets settled in. Rolston's record: 4-15-1, 0.45 points per game. Nolan's record: 11-19-7, 0.78 points per game. There's not enough evidence to say that Nolan is a good coach, but it sure seems like he's better than Rolston. We'd have to see what Ted could do with a competitive NHL-caliber roster, and that's something we don't have. It seemed to go pretty well 18 years ago.
  19. Baseball didn't include the pros. It failed.
  20. Who's getting traded and when? Everybody and "right ###### now." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cyO271GChk
  21. I'd call and ask to see if there are plans for more...maybe call the Sabres store or the marketing dept? Avoid feeding the vultures and get the money to the zoo. If they're not going to make more, then have at it on Ebay.
  22. Last night's check list: Check. Check. Check. Check. I actually liked the work he did last night up in the booth with Dan Dunleavy. You didn't get coach or player interviews as readily as being down between the benches, but Rayzor spent more time on what Tim Murray was up to both during-game and in the intermissions. Maybe it's less distracting, who knows.
