  1. Time for Hockey. And who else than #MarryMeMarcus Foligno could be the posterboy this month. New Season new chances. Let's get this season on the way. Hope you like it. Resolution 1920x1080
  2. March is around the corner and this team I decided to use a former player of the Sabres. Steve Montador is on the WP this month. Always loved him as a player when he was here and admired his work ethic. Good way to keep him in our memories. http://www.pixelpuncher.de/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/wp_sabres_15_03.jpg All wallpapers I made (almost) can be found here: http://www.pixelpuncher.de/sabreshockeyville/
  3. San Jose (10-8-2) and 7th in the West visit Buffalo (4-13-2) for a nationalized tilt. Buffalo won the first match up in California 2-1 back on October 25th. Buffalo goes for their 2nd straight after coming off a 6-2 thrashing of the Leafs on home ice while San Jose shoots for 2 wins in a row after beating Carolina 2-0 on Sunday. Neuvirth gets the start in net. Game Preview: http://www.nhl.com/g...mpid=sb-preview
  4. The Dallas Stars roll into Buffalo tonight for a match up of division cellar dwellers. The Stars, coming off a 5-3 loss to TB, are 5-4-1 in their last ten games and sit at 54 points in the Central, 5 points out of a playoff spot; behind Vancouver who sits at 59. The Sabres are an incredible 1-15 stretch to since late December, but are .500 in their last two games. Coming off a Thursday night 3-0 loss at the hands of the St.Louis Blues, Buffalo looks to get back at former head coach Lindy Ruff and stop the scoring machine that is Tyler Seguin.
  5. New Season is upon us. Sabres drafted Reinhart and Lemieux while trading for Gionta and Gorges. New Season, new hope and we kick off the monthly Wallpaper with an old face. Tyler Ennis is the Coverboy for the month of september. It's only pre-season but we are getting closer boys and girls. Hope you like it. Resolution 1920x1080 Note: I know the header on that Blog is pretty pretty outdated with Ehrhoff and Ott but I will update it soon ;)
  6. Here is the new wallpaper for the Month of december. Matt Moulson earned his way on to it. Had put up some nice numbers as of late. Resolution 1920x1080
  7. Florida comes in 3 Pts behind the Rags for the final WC spot. While the Sabres depleted lineup has gone 1-5-1 over the past seven. With most of his defensive corp out Enroth has cooled down lately and is 1-3-1 in his last five. His Save Percentage has dropped to .908 from .916. His GAA is up to 3.16. Risto should return to the lineup tonight and Myers is expected to rejoin the team on the upcoming road trip. Pysyk back to Rochester
  8. Jhonas Enroth has been fantastic in december so I decided to pick him for January. Happy New Year Everyone and hope you like it. Resolution 1920x1080
  9. As discussion about how to best handle Grigorenko's development continues (in the midst of the minority of Sabres fans yell ridiculous comments about Ruff's alleged inability to develop talent, which is another discussion for another thread), I keep hearing people talk about Seguin's development as if his career has been the standard for player development. I don't know if I'm missing something, but it's looking like he is on the verge of a disappointing season. Don't get me wrong, he's talented, but he was talented before his NHL development. What about his development needs to be done to Grigorenko? Seems like a bunch of hype and standard complaining from the Buffalo News and WGR evening guys.
  10. With the deadline only a two months away, and rumors already heating up, I figured it was time we created a separate thread for all trades leading up to the deadline so we don't clutter up others. Plus, wanted to have one place to discuss all rumors instead of two different threads. Enjoy the poll, and the thread. I'm taking the last few relevant posts from other threads and putting them in here, just give me a second. http://www.thehockey...-become-buyers/ Quote WHO WILL THE NEW SABRES GM TRADE? The Buffalo Sabres recent hiring of former Senators assistant GM Tim Murray as their new GM has some observers pondering the moves he could have in store for his new club. CBC’s Elliotte Friedman reports Murray, in the press conference announcing his hiring, indicated there were no untouchables on his new team. However, teams with interest in young Sabres like Zemgus Girgensons, Tyler Myers or Rasmus Ristolainen should expect to pay a high price to acquire them. That should discourage any rival GM hoping to fleece Murray, who has years of front office experience with several NHL clubs. Murray’s biggest challenge will be determining the fate of pending free agents like Moulson, Ott and goaltender Ryan Miller. Murray is expected to speak with Miller before the March trade deadline about re-signing with the Sabres. If the netminder intends to test this summer’s free agent market, Murray could shop him for the best possible return. COULD THE PANTHERS LAND MILLER? Harvey Fialkov of sun-sentinel.com notes Miller has family living in Florida, suggesting the Panthers could consider pursuing the 33-year-old goalie via free agency in July. Vinnie Viola, the Panthers new owner, has given GM Dale Tallon permission to spend up to the cap ceiling this summer, which is projected to be $71.1 million for 2014-15. The Panthers currently have$40.4 million invested in 12 players, leaving them more than $35 million to pursue free agent talent like Miller in July. It remains to be seen, of course, if the Panthers succeed in landing Miller or any of this summer’s top free agents. While they will bid competitively, that might not be enough to attract a veteran like Miller, who would likely prefer signing with a Stanley Cup contender. Indeed, Tallon should avoid pursuing veterans more interested in a big payday than in building a winner. At the very least, the Panthers willingness to spend puts an end to speculation they’ll engage in a roster fire sale by the deadline. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=441247 Volatile Venture With the post-season now a realistic possibility for the surging Ottawa Senators, general manager Bryan Murray seems ready to make a deal. "We are available to make a deal," he said in a conference call Tuesday. However, Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun writes that one of the prized names on the market, Buffalo Sabres forward Matt Moulson, may be a little too pricey for the nation's capital. Brennan says one NHL executive believes a deal between the Senators and Sabres "makes sense", but another executive said the Sabres would likely ask for too much in the form of "a minimum of a first (round pick) and a top young player. And I'm not even sure they even want a first in this draft." Moulson is making $3.13 million this year and is said to be looking for a long-term deal and double his current wage. The Senators likely won't be willing to give up the pieces or dollars for a deal going forward.
  11. In case you didn't get the jersey yesterday....at least get it for your desktop. Probably my last off-season wallpaper. Next one will be the schedule wp for September. 1920x1080 Click me
  12. It's the Sabres visiting the Stars tonight at 8pm. Buffalo is looking to start a streak and atone for their 3rd period laziness against the worst team in the league. Things are bigger in Texas and this game is no exception. The Sabres need a win to show that they are turning a corner. For tonight the Sabres will have to bring the D in Big D. Eichel, O'Reilly, Kane, Ristolainen will have to shine bright. The players will have to dig deep in the heart of Texas to pull out a win. If they go up they can't go into Alamo mode in Texas. The people there won't stand for it. Tune in at 8pm for the lightning fast posting of the SabreSpace most witty and experience the fan emotion and instant analysis of a bunch of lunatics who keep watching these games. See you later!
  13. Evander deserves to be the cover boy this month after his impressive start. Youll find it under: http://www.sabreshockeyville.com or the direct picture link here: http://www.pixelpuncher.de/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/wp_sabres_2017_11.jpg http://www.pixelpuncher.de/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/wp_sabres_2017_11_wo.jpg
  14. Alright ya filthy animals, calm yourselves. We all know the drill, and I get it. The dump and chase sucks, our defenders are pylons, and our first periods are more disheartening than calling your ex. Hell, some of us have even started to have flashbacks to RR staring blankly at Leino, Nolan grinning like an idiot when the 4th line plays, and Myers cooing at opposing forwards entering his zone. Well, it can't last I say! We're switching it up, DD says McCabe may be back in, and Jamie McGinn's 6 game point streak will lead us to victory against these bastards. Our last late GDT, though an abysmal game, was a great turnout and a great thread, hoping we have the same tonight. The Flames have been the most disappointing team this season, which is ironic considering all of their statistics indicated they blew as much as they currently are all of last year. Hell, these ###### have LESS POINTS THAN US. So far all of the disco is dead talk, and the sky is falling, think about how these big C's feel. But, there's a catch. The Flames have won 3 straight, including a 4-2 win against SJ on Tuesday night, and reports indicate Dougie Hamilton has found his groove. Johnson in goal for Buffalo. No Ennis, no Pysyk, and for the Flames they might miss Hillar (ill) and Russel (hand self love). Fun stat, Matt Moulson hasn't scored in 16 straight games, so he will tonight Game Preview STATS: All Team Rankings Team Comparison Chart Wednesday's Practice Forwards: 88 Jamie McGinn – 90 Ryan O'Reilly – 23 Sam Reinhart 9 Evander Kane – 15 Jack Eichel – 12 Brian Gionta 26 Matt Moulson – 28 Zemgus Girgensons – 22 Johan Larsson 44 Nicolas Deslauriers – 17 David Legwand/19 Cal O'Reilly – 82 Marcus Foligno Defense: 4 Josh Gorges – 55 Rasmus Ristolainen 25 Carlo Colaiacovo – 47 Zach Bogosian 29 Jake McCabe/6 Mike Weber – 46 Cody Franson Victims: 31 Chad Johnson 35 Linus Ullmark
  15. Game number 80. Sabres coming off a 3-0 Loss to the Isles, while Carolina beat the Flyers 3-2 in a Shoot Out. Here we go...
  16. Da Sabres take on one of the hottest teams in the league tonight as we march to Bean-Town for back-to-backs. Discuss

  19. Here we go 2017/2018 season just a couple of days away and let the franchise player take over from here... Youll find it under: http://www.sabreshockeyville.com or the direct picture link here: http://www.pixelpuncher.de/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/wp_sabres_2017_10.jpg http://www.pixelpuncher.de/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/wp_sabres_2017_10_wo.jpg
  20. MODO, we want to keep you around. Also we want to keep Ullmark around (at least I do). I do not believe he will be the player we lose in the expansion draft because there will be better options to take from us and better GT options around the league to get. Going off of that premise, I think he looks much improved this season. His AHL stats do improve over last year. One thing to remember with goalies coming from Europe is the shooting angles are much different on the smaller ice surface (so I have seen) and it takes awhile to adjust. His play in Rochester (only saw a couple of games, hard to find video sometimes) seemed to me to be much more positionally sound. His puck tracking and rebound control are vastly improved. The one thing I think he might do better than Lehner right now is rebound control (again limited viewings). I would love if a Roch Cha Cha native could give us some more insight. I think making him the backup in Buffalo and giving him 25-30games in 2017/18 is the best way forward. Lehner can get a 3yr deal and we can see what happens over the next 2 years. I am not sold on Robin and I do have a soft spot for Ullmark and have for a bit now. That said he needs to prove himself in the NHL before much longer. He will be 24 this so not old. Thoughts on the young man?
  21. The last month of the season he convinced me. He is the driving force underlying this team and I think he is ready. Regardless of bringing Gionta back, Jack Eichel should be captain.
  22. I admit I am late to the party but it's not too late ;-) Here is the wallpaper for March 2017. 25. Didn't see anyone comment on this yet... just watched on Facebook and was able to find their twitter post about it. Pretty awesome, although I think the projection system could have been better for the introduction portions with the music. https://twitter.com/BuffaloSabres/status/807986399320256513/video/1
