  1. There's no turning this thing around before we take it apart and rebuild it.
  2. Yes it is. We're beyond tanking.
  3. Sabres call up Ruwedhel, send down Pysyk. Oh it's on. It's also not a bad move: Pysyk will be able to play in Rochester during the Olympic break.
  4. Fair counter point, and fair rebuttal. If I trust my scouts, Kevin Porter was a 4th round pick, and JT Compher was pegged by our guys as a late 1st rounder.
  5. I strongly expect that Compher's going to be better than Sekera. Compher's got 16 points in 19 games for the Wolverines as a freshman, which, according to NHL equivalency whosywhatsits, works out to 28 points on an NHL season as an 18 year old. Give him about four years, and you should get a strong second liner that plays a great two-way game with high effort. Compare that to the opportunity cost of letting Sekera go for McBain or any of Sekera's future replacements (Pysyk, Risto, Zadorov, McCabe, ...), and it'a win. Especially considering our organizational depth at wing.
  6. Welp, Hodgson has six points in his six games back from injury. So he's got that going for him. Which is nice.
  7. Not sure if this was posted elsewhere yet, but it's relevant to the speculation discussion.
  8. If he's already going to be in the area during the season (and off season too), why not just throw him a broadcast gig too!
  9. It's funny that people make jokes like this, but I read it, and then I'm like: It's entirely feasible that these short-term call-ups are getting these young guys NHL exposure in front of scouts. That would make sense pre-trade deadline.
  10. You gotta disable the "oil on canvas" filter.
  11. Classic. I don't think Rob should stop doing color commentary, I just want him to get better at it. I want him to succeed and not be let go/replaced because he couldn't hack it. That's the tone of my complaint constructive criticism. That said, I still want Marty on the broadcast.
  12. Also, obligatory: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAQq72ULF_g
  13. Yes, as would I.
  14. I just wish he used more than the same three words to make a complimentary statement about the quality of a play.
  15. Please don't breed. I like Marty a lot. I think he should be on our broadcast, maybe doing some intermission analysis to start, but I could see him quickly making their way to the color commentary chair.
  16. Alright, I can't take it anymore. Someone buy Rob Ray a thesaurus. Every time, EVERY TIME he analyzes a replay, he says either "nice job," "good job," "great job," or "excellent job." He must be stopped. I like Rayzor, but I also like good color commentary.
  17. Arguably the guy who married the supermodel, if only for the first few years.
  18. Oh, it was Doug Maclean or something. I'm too lazy to read back.
  19. Or Garrioch's full of crap to start with. Meh.
  20. F uckiN A...?
  21. The tank is not complete, at the very least, until we draft first or second overall in 2014. Retaining Miller doesn't necessarily imply that the tank is off, but it does likely mean that a) we won't have as many picks and b) we might have to try harder to lose. I am prepared to tank until the 2015 draft. "The time to take counsel of your fears is before you make an important battle decision. That's the time to listen to every fear you can imagine. When you have collected all the facts and fears and made your decision, turn off all your fears and go ahead!"
  22. The Flyers always have made and always will make terrible goaltending decisions. Nope.
  23. Oh man, I want the Islanders to suck so bad next year.
  24. NBC: ESPN: Ryan O'Reilly Can't Be Traded Until Feb 28 Edit: Oops, double post.
