My takes on the game: Jack is taking his responsibilities seriously, played D, banged on the boards, has the look of someone who's ready Risto's conditioning work from my 1st observation, looks faster, quicker, more engaged Casey seems like he's still figuring things out but every now and then he makes a whoa that was very nice play. A pass to Rodrigues in 3rd for an example Too much passing not enough shooting on PP Some Dmen have a handling the puck and skating skill others don't, Dahlin has it, this guy is going to be special Hutton likes to handle the puck and is already looking better at it than Lehner ever was. McCabe looked better than I've ever seen him, Scandella looked like our 4th best Dmen Even for a preseason game, we were getting the puck out of our own end much quicker than I can remember in quite awhile I know most of you guys like Marty B. but he doesn't know when to STFU. For every good thing he says he bungles something else Does he wear blue contact lenses, it just looks wierd to me especially because he wears blue shirt, blue jacket, blue tie Pilut looks ok but needs strength work, I think he needs to go to Rochester to bulk up a little, I think he gets abused by bigger forwards in NHL NHLTV had the game on the air, preseason game..... NICE, will they do all the games shown on MSG??

There has been several great articles in The Athletic concerning the Sabres, I'm with PA, this wasn't one of them although if this is one of there PPoor one's, that does say a lot for their other ones. Anytime you put Marty Beeron in an article, you lose me almost immediately.

I'm always excited when the hockey season is about to start. I'm also very optimistic that the tank years and their after effects are over. Playoffs, I'm not sure but a much better product on the ice will happen and I think more than a couple of people will be surprised at Berglund and Sobotka, they are not Girgs and Larry. They are legitimate NHL players we've added to the bottom 6 and when injuries occur at least not to our star players, we have prospects down on the farm to take their place without a monstrous drop off in talent. Hold on to your hats boys and girls this will be the first time in quite a while that we have a real NHL team to watch and cheer for plus with Skinner, Eichel, Casey and Dahlin there'll be more jump out of your skin moments to cheer for also. Great year I don't know but I'm not jaded enough to not be able to really enjoy some talent on the ice coming from our boys for a change.

How things are set for the first day of practice that's more of a drill practice *than* anything else, means nothing on who'll be matched up for the 1st game of the regular season. Be patient grasshoppers, we'll see in due time.

Well I became Medicare eligible the past couple of days ago. I was debating whether I should put this in the Complaint Thursday thread or here. Well the countdown to retirement continues. 363 Days on the wall, 363 daysssss, If one of those days would happen to fall, 362 days on the wall........ you know the rest.

My opinion is 1C 2C 3C will be Eichel-Casey and Berglund. Casey will get the majority of the Offensive zone starts and Bergs will get a majority of the Defensive zone starts until Casey can prove he can handle it. From what I've seen of him (yes limited) he takes his defensive responsibilities seriously. He'll be more than fine when he gets acclimated to the league. There was one time in particular in the 3rd period of the prospects game where NJ came in on a 4 on 2 rush. Casey hustled into the play and did a nice job breaking things up before NJ could get anything rolling. He'll be fine. Speaking of the 3rd period there was one rush where Dahlin passed to Thompson who stick handled it in and passed to Casey that Casey bounced off the post. Just a beautiful looking play. Like I said not only he but they'll be fine.

I'm still on Call for work for approximately 20 more hours. I STILL HATE BEING ON CALL Example of being on call, I get a call at 4am stating "my freezer isn't working right"....... Want to reply but don't "I don't work on freezers and even if I did WTF do you want me to do about it at 4am"??

I have 2 extra QBs, Marriota and Smith, make me an offer if you'd like, if not that's ok no problem. Too many teams have 1 QB at the moment. I'll most likely be trading sometime later this year with someone.

Ozark season 2 has started on Netflix. Not sure it has been mentioned already or not. I'm about 1/2 way thru, so far so good. Binge watching this weekend.

Speakers are so subjective, not only to the listener but what room/enviroment you have them in. I had some speakers I was impressed with in the store but wasn't when I had them at home for 2-3 years. Re-arranged some things at the house and moved them from a carpeted room to a room with hard wood floors and they sound amazing. Same thing happened for me with a sound bar and sub woofer. I'm not sure what's behind the science in this but I just know it was a startling discovery.
