Left versus right is ruining democracy
jsb replied to dudacek's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
We are not strictly a democracy otherwise Hillary would be our president right now You have control over who your representative is, you want a Rockefeller Republican or Blue Dog Democrat, vote one in, don't expect another district, city, state to vote one in for you A big fallacy is people don't vote because they don't have a major interest in the ballot, closer to the truth is because people are too stupid and lazy. An example of that is when an education fund gets voted down. If all the people who have kids got off their lazy @ss and voted for it, it would have won overwhelmingly. The Parties are a conglomeration of people who don't necessarily think alike but band together to matter. Republicans... gun enthusiasts, anti-abortionists, lower taxes-less government interference-less regulations while Democrats lean towards more government regulation, environmentalists, freedom of choice, etc.... None of these ideas necessarily agree with each other but it's a you have my back, I'll have yours Our biggest problem as I see it is the demonization of people who don't agree with us. They aren't evil they just disagree with us -
AMA - Former 25 year Conservative Republican

Enjoyed the read and I could also say I'm also on board. That bolded part is liberating. I've gone from being a Republican to being ashamed of the party it has become. I would never have admitted to its biased nature until the present administration took hold. I've always been tolerant of the Christian Right not because I ever fully agreed with it but because I do believe everyone is entitled to their beliefs, but the hypocrisy that they have taken on because of their current status is nothing short of mind boggling. I still believe you make your own world financially and we need to be responsible in what we can afford to take on, so being a Democrat just isn't in the cards anymore for me. -
I can't imagine anyone else getting the C besides Jack. If he doesn't that just saying the organization doesn't have faith in the guy or they're waiting on Dahlin although there are 7 teams including the Sabres who haven't named one. I'm guessing they're waiting on September to announce it or just before the season starts. It would also make him currently the 2nd youngest captain in the league

The D&D brothers, Dudacek and Derrico, keep up the good fight dudes. Just remember what Neil said Don't let it bring you down, It's only Blue and Flagg churning, Find out when the Sabres are turning, And they will come around Neil, I love that dude, I love this song......

First week back to work after PTO....... Is this week ever going to end???? 417 days to retirement

I'm in
-
Oh Mikey, quit hating on every Sabre player and now Sabre blogger, jeez
-
I'm with you, if you're going to go old fartville, play Hunwick with him to start the year until someone else steps up. But heck, if Dahlin's as good as advertised, he may not need someone to mentor him and looking at the roster, that may be the best idea yet
-
No I would say high 80 point range would be my guesstimate, don't worry be happy sir.
-
Don't be shocked to see Dahlin on the right side with the over abundance of LHDs on the team.
-
Well you're down to 2 again, I now own that left one and I want it certified that it is the left one and I'll be expecting it next day air via FedEx very soon. Now I have 3!!!!
-
1st 2nd OK, Eleven gets credit for that????????? My feelings are officially hurt
-
I believe it was the October 16, 2016 game that the Sabres went into Edmonton without Jack and Kane and beat them 6-2, McDavid was held scoreless in that game.
-
I hope your right one is in good shape but that actually happened 2 years ago, not last year.
-
Or you can end up with Bogosian, Zachary Senyshyn and Jakub Zboril and find yourself fired. It all depends on how good a job you do picking
-
Now I'm confused, I thought he was joking............
-
Not to be argumentative but when was the last time someone traded out of the #1 pick in the NHL draft??
-
We'll have a better chance winning the lottery than someone trading us that #1 pick. Especially for the player Hughes is supposed to be.
-
??? Now I understand how you got lost in a supermarket ? I'm going to go 2-2-1. A respectable start for this franchise. Beating Boston and Colorado will be a chore though.

Are we going to win the Stanley Cup, nope. Are we going to make the playoffs, probably not but I'm ok with that as long as we see some vast improvement in play and don't see a repeat of last years train wreck. I'm very optimistic about a big improvement in play. An ESPN article http://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/24119636/nhl-stacking-how-all-31-teams-improved-free-agency puts us as the 2nd most improved team in the offseason so far. That doesn't necessarily mean anything but the pessimistic outlook on this team by some here has me confused and I'm just as frustrated with the recent results as anybody. There's a bunch of if's on this squad but the addition of Dahlin should vastly improve the D and if Bogosian and McCabe give them a full season (between the 2) they have 4 NHL defensemen on the squad with Guhle-Pilut and some other young guys in the background. Casey isn't going to be ROR out of the gate but if he's the real deal, line 2 should be ok and say what you may about Sobotka and Berglund but they're legitimate 30-40 point producers on the 3rd line which them alone will give us 50 more points total than our 3rd line gave us last year. Playoffs maybe not but a big time improvement in play I believe we are in store for out of this team. The biggest question for me is can Phil H coach these guys up or not.
-
I also voted keep all 3 plus what hasn't been mentioned is the distinct possibility of having 4 of the top 35-40 picks in the draft next year. Scouting will be a big key of the Sabres future moving on. I wouldn't move any of those picks unless a steal of a trade presents itself. You hit on all 4 of those picks (although slim) and your team is basically set.

☠️ Wut???? ☠️

First let me ask a question is it an NHL no-no almost equal to signing someone else's RFA to pick up a waiver wire player?? I just don't remember off hand there being that many happening?? I'm also thinking JBot is far from done wheeling and dealing this offseason. As an example, there appears to be way too many LHDs for all of them to fit with the club next year even with some of them heading for Rochester. Who goes, who stays and is Dahlin going to start on the right side or left as it appears?? Does Reinhart play wing or is that ROR trade a prelude to moving him back to center and the left hand shots picked up from St.Louie going to play LW here?? Is a possible lineup of this in the mix?? That gives a stickhandler on Samson's left and a power forward on his right. That 3rd line gives a Casey a battler on the left and puts Rodrigues on his shooting hand plus they appeared to have some chemistry together at the end of the year or you add some additional muscle to that side with Baptiste/Bailey. Sheary - Eichel - Okposo Berglund - Reinhart - Thompson Sobotka - Mittelstadt - Rodrigues/Baptiste/Bailey Wilson - Girgensons/Larsson - Pominville Scandella - Ristolainen Hunwick - Dahlin McCabe - Bogosian Hutton/Ullmark Just another thought on what will be an interesting camp

Went salary, made a bit more annually but my hourly wage went downhill big time. I know I'm late with this but I just came back from vacation. As for Eichel taking #9, I think it SUCKS to high heaven. I now have 3 Sabre jerseys, a #15 Eichel a #9 Kane and a #90 ROR. WTF happened these past few months???

Thanks, I appreciate your kind thoughts. We were in Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway and then on the way back to Seattle we stopped in Victoria. I've been to Victoria before but most of the family had not. Beautiful city but the Alaskan sites were nothing short of breathtaking
