Sir you have had very good posts before but this is pure GOLD and it needed to be said. There were positives in that game although reading this GDT you won't find much. It was one game, one game out of 82. If I've soured on anyone from that locker room it's Phil H. Not only putting Eichel's line on Bergeron's but for a team that played like it was their first game together (and it was their 1st real game together), Phil starts blowing up the lines to make them even more ragged. WTF was he thinking, the game was lost already just leave the lines alone and let them bond a bit. If he was going to blow things up why didn't he have this figured out during practice and the preseason games. I don't think he's capable of putting this team on solid footing. Unless they turn things around pretty quickly I'm falling into the fire him mode before he totally loses the team.

VS Game Previews http://www.espn.com/nhl/preview/_/gameId/401044324 https://buffalonews.com/2018/10/03/sabres-lines-and-defense-pairs-set-for-opener/ I haven't been this pumped up for a season opener since Eichel's rookie year. Boston was blasted last night by the Washington Caps so I'm expecting them to come out on fire. Phil better have the boys ready. LETS GO BUFFALO

Sabills in with the new news, Brawndo must be taking a late morning poop Well done sir....
-
Dang that's not saying much, everyone on their team scored against us in those 2 games. We were horrid in both those disasters.

You may have to revise this in bold, he looked much quicker in the preseason action I saw, McDavid he isn't but Cody Franson he isn't either.
-
I'm all for hitting but taking a guys head off in a preseason game.... really??? Regular season, playoffs, I'll give a little but preseason just a bit too much IMO.

For all your luck I'm having the worst luck in this league than anything I've ever had before. Top running back hurt in 1st quarter of 1st game, top TE hurt in 1st quarter of 1st game out for the year, 3rd receiver has played in 1 half so far this season and is hurt again, 2nd running back having an off season. I even lost to @Derrico this week. Things couldn't have gone any worse.

LOL..... Flagg has turned into Debbie Downer. Just say Bye Felicia until January when team chemistry and Dahlin and Casey get the league figured out. 2nd line.... 2 vets with a good history plus an up and coming TT 3rd line.... 2 vets, 1 who is a gritty player and has averaged 32 points a game his last 2 years in NHL, a vet who has scored 273 points his last 5 seasons in the NHL and a consensus top 5-10 prospect 4th line is your PITA line and PK line. We're not winning the SCup this year but that lineup screams a lot better than last years lineup

A year old article on the kid https://www.ontheforecheck.com/2017/8/7/16088254/nashville-predators-top-25-under-25-14-jack-dougherty -

Another good article in The Athletic by Joe Yerdon on his thoughts of the final roster to begin the year. It'll all depend if Sheary and Bogosian are ready to start the year IMO. What the lineup looks like October 4th and who's on it in January should be interesting. Hopefully whoever gets sent down doesn't see it as a permanent demotion and keeps their attitudes up.

Is someone broadcasting this game?? It looks like a majority of our B teamers out there against the Islanders but this shouldn't be anything as bad as the Penguins game
-
I thought Ogelvie was sent down already plus Nylander is still on board.
-
Beating Brawndo to the punch is no easy chore, Bravo sir Bravo to you How many players are still in the running for spots?? Thanks LGR, pretty impressed with you reading my mind so quickly
-
Actually that's the way I see it also. Okposo probably has earned the 2nd line spot but Mitts-ERod need a vet on their line although it wouldn't surprise me to see Sobotka on the left of Mitts on that line and ERod centering the 4th line. Bailey and Girgs bring a lot of energy to that 4th line. Skinner-Jack and Samson have been nothing short of outstanding in the preseason and I like that Jack is battling on the boards also.

If you're only interested in Buffalo Sports and enjoy other features besides sports, you're probably better off with BN but if you like a well rounded sports magazine that covers local and national interests The Athletic blows everything else away. Baseball, soccer, NFL, NBA, college football and the NHL it's all there. I can read up on the Astros, Texans, Bills, Sabres and college teams. It has the best NHL coverage I've seen. Reading SDS's comments, let newspapers do the news and editorials, let these sports outlets do their thing.

VS We play today don't we, I haven't had my coffee yet From what I've heard the A team is playing so it should be a good game to view. Panarin and Werenski are out for the BJs.

Nice post Thorny, I kind of feel like some of these posters need a heart transplant after last season. You gotta believe people, we're going to be much better than last year. Great, I don't think so but much better, Toronto is what we should strive to get to right now but we're not there yet. After reading some of the posts in the last 2 days, I watched the Saturday game on tape. Mistakes yes but I thought they should have won that game. A seeing eye goal beat them and Jeff-Jack and Samson looked like the best line we've had in I don't remember when. What I'm most optimistic about is Hutton. A goalie who can make save and pass, holy molie, who was the last guy who could do that *to.* Inky is that the right *to*?? You've gotta have heartAll you really need is heartWhen the odds are sayin' you'll never winThat's when the grin should startYou've gotta have hopeMustn't sit around and mopeNothin's half as bad as it may appearWait'll next year and hopeWhen your luck is battin' zeroGet your chin up off the floorMister you can be a heroYou can open any door, there's nothin' to it but to do itYou've gotta have heartMiles 'n miles n' miles of heartOh, it's fine to be a genius of courseBut keep that old horse Before the cartFirst you've gotta have heart

I'm having problems feeling sorry for anybody with Fournette out since the 1st qtr. of game 1. Can't check my team at work but I'm sure I was clocked again this week.

Sabres v Tornato 9/21/18... blow leaves blow at 7:30p

I've given up the idea of Reinhart as C. Asplund didn't handle Tavares any better than Casey did but for kids who never played this level before, that's a pretty big task for anybody. -

My takes of the game: We not only are faster we play faster. Very impressed with the young guys speed of play and we won races for the puck.... WHAT?? Can't remember when I said that before Guhle needs more seasoning in Rochester, Pilut and Nelson were better but they may also start the season in Rochester Casey's not ready for 2nd line Center minutes but I'd rather have him learn here than Rochester, once he gets used to the speed of play he'll be fine Asplund's better than I thought but he's better off getting 1st line minutes in Rochester Having said the above, all of those guys make last years roster Tage is better than some of you guys gave him credit for being at the trade. We'll miss ROR a bit but the same guys who blasted that trade seem to be having a problem that Berglund and Sobotka and a 1st came back in that trade also. I'm beginning to think we WON that trade I have done a 180 on #92 Nylander, if he doesn't start the season here, it won't be long before he's back, this guy can play I can see why they are also high on C.J. Smith, he has potential, he also makes last year's roster Girgensons makes the team as a 4th line winger, say what you want about him but he plays hard and is gritty, we need that on the 4th line plus he's good on PK That Toronto feed yesterday was terrible, nothing short of terrible, expected much better -

Yes it's on NHL-TV also for us out of towners -
This is the dark side of the game, Ekblad with his concussion issues is in no way shape or form wanting or expecting to get in a fight here. I'm hoping for a max suspension for Domi but unfortunately it will probably be next to nothing. If the league and Player Safety is truly wanting to cut back on the needless violence, a 10 game regular season suspension should be the minimum given

LOL, I thought is was only my dog that did that, what in the world is the attraction there?
