Jbot Do Something Already 3 - deadline edition
woods-racer replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I think it was Liger that had a break down of the draft and the % of impact by draft position. Draftees 2-10 have the same odds of having an impact in the NHL. 11-20 There's a small drop. There's a steep and continuous drop of the chances of making it after that. The team that has the most success is the team with the greatest number of chances. It's why GMs are getting so frugal on trading away their draft positions. -
Don't we all have weird usernames right now?

BREAKING: WAWROW: BOTTERILL SLAMMED A DOOR
woods-racer replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
I had no problem with the theory of tanking. I had a problem with the execution of the tank. -
Nelson and Antpin became a pair in the third. That was the highlight of the game.

Mrs Racer and I will be at the Pour Man's for a pregame cocktail, if we happen to see some one in an WC Eichel will introduce ourselves. I mean, what are the chances it's not you and it's just a really weird situation all around? :D

That does sound good.

Outstanding ! You knew what you wanted, found it and got it. Happy for you and the Mrs.!

The nasty back then was NASTY! That part has calmed considerably. But they had enforcers back then to self police. I believe that today's stars actually have it a bit tougher as they don't get the luxury of having their backs protected by a taped wrapped knuckle dragger on double skates.

We will know how good it is by you sentence structure alone. Here's hoping it's a one word answer smothered in drool.

That was not a hockey smart move. If he iced the puck, we won. He had time and space and tried to get cute with a play that looks as though he was attempting a pass. Antipin did the same thing that lead to a goal. If PH benched him for a bit I would understand. I hope justice is equal in this case.

If the offer is for the right dollars and term I do not have a problem with it. He is the *average* NHL goalie. We may not have that next year. I never count my chickens before their hatched.

There are six stores in Erie county PA that offer Wiser's Triple Barrel Rye, and that is the only offering. If we want any thing else from Wiser it's special order only. It's listed here as a product of Canada, so I'm not sure if U.S. customers are going to be to familiar. GOOOO for IT! Then let us know.

My likes .. The Irishman Founders Reserve Jura 10 year Monkey Shoulder My barometer is Dewars White Label. If it has a wood and peat taste range around Dewars I'm prone to like that offering. Does the store in your area have a big display of Teachers Blended Scotch for around $17.00 a bottle? I tried it. Good, but a little more smoke and peat in it than I like, but still mild compared to a Glenmorangia . I'm buying another bottle just to have because it's so cheap for the quality.

I agree with you about ROR. Nelson and Antipin I think tried at some point to make a difference and did some bone head things trying to put the team on their back. The rest where passengers. Just because they got really lucky and their first or second shot on goal was a goal I don't consider that making it a good game. They where out played and out hustled for three periods, they never had a good full period of play. That was more like the team of November that has been of late.
-
It was a very hard game to watch as a Sabres fan. They where, for the most part, all passengers again. Some sparks here and there from a few trying to make a difference, but not enough to get the team going.

May he be kept with all the rest of the treasures the Nights Templar have.

I watched quite a bit of that game. At one point scoring chances where in favor of the CBJ 20 to 10. I couldn't believe CBJ was down a goal when the announcer said that. Toronto looked.... not good. But they won. Some nice solo plays by a few players on Toronto was the difference, especially the goalie.

It's a small world. Had a Grand Dad and Uncle there. Grand Dad was an engineer also. Still have a few of his measuring tools from his time there.

Tampa has a fast skilled team and tough to match up against is my take on it then.

Your positive outlook on games is always a welcome read!

Trade Deadline Deals 2018 (Non-Sabres Thread)
woods-racer replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
And this is why the Lehner trade is still the worst trade made that I can remember. It's never been for me what GMTM got, it has always been what he has given up. -
Looking for houses on both sites, and in the Chattanooga TN region I would say Zillow has more houses on it on average than Realtor.com. Think more and more people are giving it a go themselves.

One of the really good things to happen in the drug/medical industry in the last 10 years is that systems put into place to share information on anyone that has been prescribed pain killers. People use to be able to walk into every hospital E.R. on the same day in their city with a broken xxxxx and walk out with a script for a pain killer. And the repeat business was amazing. Now, if you don't have fake ID you maybe can get it once, as the rest of the E.R.s will have a prompt show up that you've already been given a script and when one was last prescribed. The last PCP office I was in had a warning right on the front door * No Pain Meds will be prescribed by any doctor in this facility*. They would tell them if they where in that much pain they needed to go to the emergency room. A lot has changed, which I believe has lead more people to go the way of *illegal* drugs then ever before.

Little worried the Sens might show some life after the trade. I'm betting they come out in the 1st really trying to win. Good test for the Sabres that their not just getting wins against teams looking past them.

I think Antipin has a lot of upside, he's as close to a Brian Campbell as I've seen here since he left. Yes CJ was just stupid on the play, but Antipin made it worse. I hope Antipin isn't benched Thursday in Ottawa, but considering he's been on a short leash all season I wouldn't be surprised.
