Housley has to get some credit with this line up, right?
They are playing NHL hockey. Possession, scoring chances, shots all in the favor of the Sabres. This wasn't a puck luck Nolan/Blasma win.
Nash didn't have the *shenanigans * baggage attached to him, and one good year did't turn Kane into an angel in GM eyes.
So to sum this up, it is what the trade deadline is any more, a little bit of movement and GM's holding on to picks/prospects more than ever due to salary cap constraints.
There has to be a group that is nervous that this is their last shot to show they belong in the NHL. Desperate to earn a paycheck hockey isn't nearly as good as fighting for a playoff spot hockey, but they should be better and more entertaining than Nov/Dec Sabres hockey.
We got a shot at a bottom six center that is fast and gritty right away. If he makes an impact comparable to Wilson I think Botts did well.
If Danny doesn't we got a nice piece in Rochester for a push to the playoffs.
All he has to sell is garbage. Not his garbage, the previous GM's.
He made some bitter lemonade out of the pile of rotten lemons he had to work with. Kane has a reputation that hurt his price. Bott's didn't do that to him. GMTM trades are falling to the worst ever as Sabre GM and you're calling out the wrong GM.
Hate on Botts all you want.
But what is really sad is Gorges, Lehner, Molson, Bogo are still here, because they're not worth a bag of pucks. Lot of fixing to do for GMJB and wasn't going to happen with this trade.
It's a move that absolutely no one saw coming.
Come on now, who would have seen San Jose as dealing for Kane?
I believe I'm starting to understand trolling, it's like sarcasm, only better.
I know for sure he was on special teams this game because I said to myself at one point during the game...
The seasons over why haven't they been playing him more on special teams? After seeing him out there.
Then I read that he has a communication problem in the Justin Faulk thread.
